01-01-04. My cousin's two grandchildren whom we have prayed for before. The baby girl, Peyton, who is about 2 and 1/2 now was taken back to the hospital in New Orleans to have a biopsy on her lungs. Please pray for parents. This has been stressful. Luke, her cousin who is about 5 yrs. old had to have hearing aid removed because a wire came out of it about 2 months ago, and caused infection. They are now putting in a digital hearing aid. Please pray for his total hearing and for his parents to have strength and faith through this. Gwen

1-22-04. Gwen, I hate to tell you this, but, I lost Skeeter today at 3:50 P.M. I don't have all the arrangements made at this time but will let you know as soon as I get all the details. He had a very rough time of it for the last week. But now he will have no more pain. He will be with his Mother and Dad again and I am happy for that. I already miss him. The Lord had other plans for him. and wanted him to come be with Him. Gwen, please pass this on to the others and tell them and for yourself I appreciate all the prayers and concerns from all of them and most of all you. You have been there for Skeeter and myself all the way. Jim Abby called me and told me you had found him and I was glad to hear from him but at that time Skeeter was in no shape to talk to him. Gotta go now but will get back with you soon.

12-22-03 UPDATE ON SKEETER WOODS:
Gwen, Well where do I start? I had to take Leldon to the hospital last Saturday evening with severe lower back pain. He would not let me call an ambulance for him so we started to M.D. Anderson and got as far as Clear Lake and had to stop at the hospital there. He was admitted and the next morning the Dr. came in and checked him and transferred him to M.D. by ambulance. We spent Sun,, Mon, and Tues. at M.D. Anderson. He has another tumor in the lower spine. They got him easy and now they have started him on radiation on this spot. It is making him sick but he is still trying. We go every day to M.D. and get the treatment. They are going to give him ten of these treatments. He is not doing too good. I have not told him but I am scared. I don't want to lose him. He is my other self. Gwen, keep him in your prayers hard and heavy for I think we are going to need all we can get. Love to you and God Bless Leldon & Lanita
10-16-03. A note from Leldon "Skeeter" Woods. How like him to start the letter with "How are you doing this fine day?" His words are always like a bit of sunshine. Let's especially be in prayer for him next Wednesday (10-22-03) as he goes to his doctors. His letter reads:
"Hi Gwen, How are you doing this fine day?Just wanted to up-date you on what is going on around here. Went to the Dr. and had to have an x-ray done. It did not look right to the Dr. so had a cat scan. Well that turned up a mass on the lung that was operated on last year. It is cancer. I go to the lung Dr. and then to an Oncologist next Wednesday to find out what they are going to do. I don't know if it will be chemo or radiation. Will have to wait and see. Please keep me in your prayers. Afraid I may need them a little more this time.

10-21-03 From Anita Kay McLeod Smith
I'm well, and the family is doing great! However, I do want your prayers for our little Skylar. She's Andy's 2-1/2 year old whom we keep each day. She has reflux of the right kidney and she has been running very high fever. We'll find out tomorrow which procedures the doctors will use. We're kind of in the dark about it now.
UPDATE 11-17-03. Thank you so much for your prayers for Skylar, and thanks to the Lord, there is no kidney damage. We are so thankful to all who prayed. Skylar will still take anti-biotics every day for the rest of her life and she will go to the hospital every six months for several tests. If her temperature ever gets high, she will need to have a special test. We are praying for a complete recovery. Anita Kay McLeod Smith

10-29-03 from Gwen Watkins. Please pray for my 4 year old 3rd cousin Luke. He can't hear and speaks only a few words. As I understand, they put a transplant of a cochlea in his ear. It has now become infected and must be taken out. His actions make him very hard for his parents to control. He must suffer from a lot of frustrations due to this infection. They are taking him to the doctor this week to remove the transplant. Please pray for successful surgery and healing for this little boy. Pray for his parents also. Thanks, Gwen

11-13-03. Please pray for a young mother, Kathy Reynolds, in Mabank, Texas. Her husband Eddy found her passed out at home and couldn't wake her. They rushed her to the hospital and we aren't sure of the diagnosis but know it is serious. Also pray for their two daughters Carley (a senior in high school) and Kelsey, my granddaughter Sarah-Marie's friend in Jr. High. Gwen Watkins

Randy's request: Could you and your friends do me a favor and pray for Tony and Donna's sixteen year old son Nick, who is having problems. One of his lungs keeps collapsing. He has had a few surgeries. He had to have his lung re-attached. He's now having more problems. They don't think that they got all of the air out of his chest cavity. That is causing complications. More tubes are going into him. On top of that, they have had him on morphine so long, he is now addicted. He is pretty scared and so are his parents. So, if you would pray for them, I would appreciate it. Love you, Randy.
10-21-03. It looks like Nick is doing better. He is not allowed to carry anything. I don't think that they got all of the air out of his chest cavity. His spirits are up. That's good. 11-17-03. He's(Randy) back in school now and seems to be doing better.

The latest news on Jerry Bell is that he is doing exceptionally well. Praise God. After 6 and 1/2 hours of surgery and complications from the dye used to run the arteriogram, he seems to be regaining his strength and health. Please pray for Shirley Carvell Green and her husband Robert. Also for Shirley's mother who will have a second cataract removed Monday at 7:30 AM in Houston. Robert has an appointment the same day at MD Anderson to see what the doctors plan to do for him. Some doctors have diagnosed him with Sarcoma but the doctors don't seem to be in agreement on their diagnosis. Let's be in agreement in prayer that we will receive God's report which says that by the stripes of Jesus, Robert's healing has already been claimed. Jesus is the healer and we Believers agree with Him. Both Shirley and Robert have been such blessings in our lives, we want to bless them now by standing firmly and unwavering in prayer for Robert's healing and great peace for both of them. We also stand in faith for Shirley's mother that she will have a blessed recovery and great eyesight. Gwen

9-27-02 Update from Tammie...Shirley and Robert's daughter.
No good news from M.D. Anderson...just chemo and that doesn't "fix it". The doctor that did the first surgery is going to a "Big" medical meeting this week end and is going to present Bob's history of this strange cancer to all the doctors and see if they have any suggestions. They still just say that they think it is a type of Scarnoma. It is a malignant tumor and they must treat all tumors the same...chemo, and hope that they shrink. Another cat scan Tues. to see how they have changed. Well, God can make a way where there is no way. Thank you for your prayers and concern. We are taking one day at a time and trying to find God's direction for Bob's illness. Health wise he is doing great, but he and I (Shirley) have good days and bad days trying to handle the stress. ONE NOTE TO ALL: FRIENDS, FAMILY, AND ALL THAT HAVE SHOWN CONCERN. The doctor's appointment today revealed a slight heart murmur...I will be taking fluid pills, also have allergies, lots of drainage, so will take medication for that. Will call the doctor Friday if the swelling has not gone down in feet and legs. Orders were to keep legs and feet propped up and stay off of them as much as possible. Been doing that already. I will return in one month fasting for test for diabetic condition and cholesterol etc. lab work. The doctor said my lungs and heart sound fine except for the murmur that she thinks may be caused by fluid. So...guess ya'll will have to put up with me a few more years unless I'm struck by a Big Mac truck or something. The doctor was amazed at what good health I have had. Last time I was in to the doctor's office for lab. work was 1999. Love, Wanda

Hi Gang, I got this note from Ronnie Berwick today about Leldon Woods. Thought I'd pass it on to everyone and ask you to send encouragement and pray for our little "Skeeter". I got an email from Skeeter Woods. He was to have one third of his lung removed Oct. 8. Don't know how it came out, but will try to call him tomorrow. He also has emacular degeneration in both eyes and is going blind. He needs prayers. Ronnie Berwick

8-05-02 Please pray for Hannah. She is a 12 yr.old granddaughter of my friend Pat. Pat writes: her MRI showed the tumor on her brain stem has grown. They will learn of the doctor's recommendations next Friday. We are all scared and so is Hannah. Being twelve she knows something is terribly wrong. Has lost fine motor skills on both left and right sides and her speech is affected too. 9-27-02 Continue to pray for Hannah

Prayer: Father, we know that it is Your will to heal Skeeter. So we come together in agreement and You said in Matthew 18:19, that if two of us shall agree on earth as touching any thing that we shall ask, it shall be done for us by our Father in heaven. I know there are more than two of us asking, Lord, so we expect Skeeter to be healed. You also said in Mark 11:24, that what things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye have received them, and ye shall have them. Lord, You said that faith cometh by hearing and hearing by Your Word, so as we read your Word, our faith increases in Your ability and desire to restore what the enemy would like to take.
