GOT YOUR HOSS AND SPURS?
IT’S ROUND-UP TIME
“Be thou Diligent to KNOW the state of thy flocks
And
Look well to thy herds.”
(Proverbs 27:23)
“We’re headed to the sheep pens again today to check our flocks. Oh, oh, looks like some gaps are down and a bunch of them have gotten out. Where could they be? Have they run away? Have we lost them for good, or can we round them up before it’s too late? We must find these before we consider buying more.”
Now, when we are expecting profits, does every head count…every sheep? Even the lost one? How important is that one lost sheep? Is it worth seeking out?
Of course you know that parable…and you can blend this Spiritual message with the Flesh message. How well can you feed those natural sheep with natural food, if you don’t take care of your finances?
Sheep are like money; they will break away and get lost when they see a hole in the fence. I’ve had some experience with sheep, and although they are very sweet, they are also dumb about a lot of things. They really need a good shepherd…Good Shepherd.
So, let’s go find them today. Round them up…all of them, and put them back where they belong under our care. Let’s be determined to do that before anything else. Then, we can see what God has planned for each of us next.
FELLOWSHIP AND COUNSEL
BOARD
During my Fellowship Time and Business Meeting with our Lord this morning, the Holy Spirit encouraged me to set a goal (date) to work towards getting all my sheep (financial information) into the fold. I have been very delinquent in this. My sheep have wandered. I must have an easy system to know where they are daily and what they are doing.
Probably, like you, I do not intend to spend the rest of my life chasing these wayward sheep, not knowing where they are, and not seeing them multiply…produce. Once we have them in the pen, the gaps solidly closed, then we will be able to move on to the next step our Lord has planned for us.
He has all the money in the world. But, it makes Him Smile, I feel certain…when we are using wisdom and taking good care of all He gives us.
SCRIPTURES FOR TODAY
I turned these two scriptures into positive prayer confessions for myself today. You are welcome to use them or ones of your choice.
“DISCRETION preserves me. UNDERSTANDING keeps me.” (Proverbs 2:11). And, “I am HAPPY because I find WISDOM, and continually Get UNDERSTANDING.” (Proverbs 3:13).
