“Good Morning – God’s Entrepreneurs.”

ACCOUNT
ABILITY

(Accountability)

An important lesson to learn when we are seeking to invest our finances (to increase our giving to the Glory of God as we follow Matthew 25:14-29), is to understand the importance of accountability.
It’s not a harsh word at all; rather a great blessing. This is why I feel led to ask you a question that you may feel is personal (no one’s business but your own), but I would like to ask each of you:  “How much property taxes or school taxes did you have to pay this year?”
Your answer may be “none” or a lot.  According to your age and circumstances.  The idea is that it is something we should all know.  You may easily be able to quote JOHN 3:16, but can you as easily quote how much you had to pay in taxes this year?  It will become important to you as you figure your finances today and later in life.  Please answer this to me if you feel free to do so.
Okay, I’ll go first.  Last year I paid $3,588.12 and that was with exemptions of claiming my property as a homestead and the perk of being over sixty five years of age.  Right away, we can see that owning a home can be very expensive.  But, if it’s what we want, then it’s worth it.
I’m truly revealing my PAST ignorance here.  I never wanted to think about taxes or money in any form except to be sure my bills were paid after giving my tithes and donations.  If you aren’t sure, the easiest way to find out is to call your County Appraisal Dist.  The number for Uvalde County is
278-1106.

SPIRIT

So, first of all we hold ourselves accountable to God for all that He gives us.  Our family, our lives, and even our finances.  We want to make the MOST of EVERYTHING our Father has given us.  At least, I do, don’t you?
PROOF OF SCRIPTURES

We’ll all give account in the day of judgment, even of our idle words.  (Matthew 12:36)  Stewardship – (Luke 16:2)  And he called him, and said unto him, “How is it that I hear this of thee? Give an account of thy stewardship; ….”.  Everyone gives account to God – (Romans 14:12).  So then every one of us shall give account of himself to God  (verse 16) that our good not be spoken evil of.
Now we don’t have to “Give Account” to every person we know.  But there may be one or a few special people in our life that God will use to help us through “accountability”.
ASSETS  OF
  ACCOUNTABILITY

Right off the bat, we know the liabilities of being accountable to the wrong person.  We must certainly know those who labor among us…with us.  God gives us discernment and we know by the reliability of their life style.
EXAMPLE:  We might each have someone who is very interested in seeing us succeed.  They have the experience and ability to guide us and answer our many questions.  We may call them a type of mentor…helping teach us what they know.
If we know they are going to be checking up on our progress, it spurs us on to be prepared to give them a ready answer.  Or perhaps ask them the next question.  This keeps us from becoming stagnant and not pressing forward…enjoying the progress we see ourselves making towards our goals.
If no one cares about us, or we have been too proud to ask for help, then we are missing a great asset.  Each of us have the ability to be a mentor (accountability partner) to someone in some area.  These vary.  Someone always knows more than we do about something, and we always know more than someone else does in another area.  This is a good example of the Body of Christ working together.

THE  BOTTOM  LINE

“The Bottom Line”, as my big brother always says, is that the one we hold ourselves accountable to, whether Father God, or a brother or sister in the Lord here on earth, is that THEY CARE ABOUT US and desire to see us prosper and reach our Earthly as well as Heavenly Goals.  That God’s will be done on earth as it is in Heaven.  Yes, Spirit and Flesh walking hand in hand to the Glory of God.

ACCOUNTABILITY
REQUIRES
COMMUNICATION

Surely you have someone much wiser than I am, to be accountable to for your financial dreams.  “Such as I have…give I thee.”  Perhaps it’s only “ears to hear” at this time.  Maybe it’s simply an encouraging word.  All I know is that I CARE and am truly excited about each step forward that you take in your journey of PROSPERITY whether it be spiritual or financial.  If you have no GOAL…then neither you nor I know where you are going.  We will not know when you get there.  Please be sure you have SET A GOAL.
Until you find someone else please check in with me on a regular basis and let me know of your progress…be it small or great.  A step is a step.
