SPIRIT AND FLESH
Every wise woman buildeth her house: but the foolish plucketh it down with her hands. (Proverbs 14:1) She considereth a field, and buyeth it: with the fruit of her hands she planteth a vineyard. (Proverbs 31:16) Also read Proverbs 31:10-31 about the Virtuous Woman and see where she fits in to our latest scenario. And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men every where to repent (change). (Acts 17:30).
DO-DAD or DO-DAT
We’re learning a new language, aren’t we? “Do-dads” are like the little foxes that spoil the vine. (Song of Solomon 2:15). With a new language comes a new way of life, creating good habits that are pleasant to our soul, giving us hope and purpose as we see progress in our lives.
Forming good habits. From the little we (I) have learned about “Do-Dads”, I understand they are unnecessary commodities that do not produce revenue…(good cash flow). They do not make money grow for us. The ones I passed up in the grocery store yesterday would not add money to my bank account…only inches to my waist.
It was Easter Candy at Wal-Mart. Rows and rows of it. I argued with myself, but kept hearing, “Do-dads, do-dads. This is only do-dads.”
I won over these “do-dads”. Praise the Lord. But, I still have a long way to go in establishing this good habit.
DO-DAT
(do that)
Now, a “do-dat” (my own new word) is productive. This calls for action. For me, it’s a call to attack my financial statements…put the pen or pencil to my finances. So I began and was inspired.
MY GOAL
DOUBLE MY PRESENT INCOME
HOW?
My goal is to double my finances, my income. As I double my income I will be able to double my tithe and giving.
In Matthew 25:14-30 (the parable of the Talents), we notice that the Lord was just as pleased with the servant who received two of His talents as He was with the one He gave 5 of His talents to invest and multiply for Him.
What did both of these men do? They doubled their talents.
Of course this can mean Spiritual as well as Flesh (natural). Why not both? The Spirit and the Flesh walking hand in hand to the Glory of God.

Hot Tip
Kim Kiyosake gives us a Simple Plan to help us create a new habit. I quote her here: “For every dollar that came into our household, no matter where it came from, we FIRST took 30% off the top. If it was $1, then we took 30 cents. We then divided the money into 3 accounts.”
[You’ll noticed I rearranged the order a little: putting tithing first.]
I “DID DAT”
I took my regular current income and multiplied it by .30, then divided that amount by 3.
10% _ Tithe
10% _ Savings
10% _ Investing
THEN I DREW THESE PICTURES
(As I am a visual Learner)

10 % of 30% 10 % of 30% 10 % of 30%
TITHE SAVINGS INVESTING
(Notice how much tithe I can give when I double my Income)

The total of my 3 ten percents is $474.30. So I subtracted that from my regular Income and it left me with the other 70% which is $1,106.70 to pay for my liabilities…such as bills, utilities, insurance…you name it. Ha.
A FEW BURIED COINS
Well, you can see right away that I will need to make some adjustments in my life style habits. But it will be FUN to SEE my liabilities go down and my assets RISE UP. And I do have some hidden assets (buried) that I must dig up and insert into this plan of action toward increase.
By FAITH in the talents (wisdom, education, and footwork) God has given us, we can ACCENTUATE the FUN…of the POSITIVE in favor of thinking about our lack. There is a way out of debt and a road to prosperity. It can be FUN if we have a Goal and a Plan. (Jeremiah 29:11). And, if we will simply:
DO-DAT

[By the way…all you financial and mathematical geniuses out there, if you see that my figures are all wrong and I haven’t used my math correctly…please pray for me and don’t hesitate to correct me now. We are a team and I appreciate your knowledge and advice. We all have to begin somewhere and it is good to help each other when we can. Which leads me to say “Thank You” again to my friend Sandy…who is offering me very valuable information.] |
