 Spirit and Flesh 8
“Hi Team. Have you balanced your check book lately?”

BALANCE
How many people know how to balance their check book? And, even if they know how, how many actually do that?
Great losses or great gains may be found by this simple (?) act. Have we avoided it because it doesn’t seem simple to us? Or, because we become frustrated when it doesn’t balance?
“Oh well,” we say. “The bank has a record. I’ll just trust what THEY say.”
Is this wisdom? Is this taking personal responsibility for the TALENTS and ASSETS our Lord has given us?
Will He say, “Well done, thou good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things (little things), I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the JOY of the Lord.” Matthew 25:21
Faithful with little – ruler over much. Faithful to do something seemingly as small as balancing our check book…still carries a promise with it.
SPIRITUAL BALANCE
I have no fear of us leaving our First Love, Jesus Christ, and following after money. Our only plan is to take control over it and put it to work for the Kingdom of God. What an eye-opener of confirmation I received this morning when Ida Mae called and shared with me Exodus 31:1-6 where God was giving instructions for building His Temple. The heading of this chapter says: Craftsmen to be Employed. And I believe you can relate to verses 3,4 as they pertain to you. God’s spirit abides in you.
“And I have filled him with the Spirit of God, in wisdom, and in understanding, and in knowledge, and in all manner of workmanship,
To devise cunning works, to work in gold, and in silver, and in brass,”
Being earthlings, ha, we understand that as we balance our check book, so must we balance our lives. God does all things decently and in order. Perhaps the simple order listed below will simplify our thoughts to
KEEP US BLANCED.
