THEY WAITED NOT
For
HIS COUNSEL
(Psalms 106:13)
“They soon forgot His works; they waited
not for His counsel.”
The
last time I felt overwhelmed by the abundance of knowledge the Lord was pouring out on me, was when
I first received the Baptism in the Holy Spirit. It was the beginning of the Angel Food cards
when I cried out, “Oh, Lord, can’t you make this simple for me? This is too much to
collect at one sitting.”
It
reminds me of the scripture God gave me at that time from The Living Bible Paraphrased. In Malachi
3:10 He said: “I will open the windows of Heaven for you and pour out a blessing so great
you won’t have room to take it in.”
Every
word He has given me this morning is like a jewel I want to save. Yet, my treasure chest is running
over and I cannot contain it all. I must ask My Lord to keep it in a safe place for me; to write
it on my heart for future times and days. I ask Him to hide the many jewels there so that I can
enjoy just looking at and sharing only one this morning.
The
one I examine and delight in at this moment is surely a pearl of Great Wisdom. It is:
“WAITING” FOR
HIS COUNSEL
As
I awoke I was made aware that one word, sound, or voice from the world…could change my course
for the day. It could be one person speaking to me, a voice from the television, or an email.
I
knew with this awareness that I must “Seek FIRST the Kingdom of God” and His righteousness
(right standing) He has prepared for us. I knew that I must let His Voice be the First Voice I hear
each morning if I sincerely desire to tune into His Truth and Direction.
I
also knew that He should be the First One I speak to when I awake. I like to greet Him with, “Good
Morning Father. Good Morning Jesus. Good Morning Holy Spirit. This is the day that You
have made and I am rejoicing and glad in it. In all my ways, I acknowledge You and You direct my
paths.”
Then
the Holy Spirit directs me to pray to Him in my prayer language which becomes a point of agreement between
my spirit and His. I so desire to pray His will. He brings to my mind at this time specific
people and things He wants me to pray about, seeking His direction for their lives. His will…not
mine.
As
I prayed in the spirit for others this morning, the Holy Spirit said to my spirit VERY CLEARLY:
“In
quietness and confidence (in Me) is your strength.”
This
was a direction for me today. And when I ask God each morning, “What’s For Breakfast?”,
this is what I mean. I desire to know His directions for this day. And to hear what lesson
the Holy Spirit would teach me.
THE
COUNSEL OF THE LORD
THAT SHALL STAND!!!
Counsel
from men or even self, may come and go and is given to change, but the counsel of the Lord…That
Shall Stand and not waver. It is a strong foundation that does not shift beneath our feet. We
can count on it with the surety of our God-given Faith in Him and His Holy, undefiled, Words
of Promise.
Read
what the Lord gives us in Proverbs 19:20-21 and you will see how the Holy Spirit attracted me this morning
to confirm my need to SEEK His counsel above all others. To show me how to receive it.
I
know God is no respecter of persons so I know He is teaching this and emphasizing it to many of His children
today. I’m simply sharing what our Father shared with me this morning: His Angel
Food (revelation knowledge).
His
Word says in Proverbs 19:20 -21, “Hear Counsel, and Receive Instruction, that thou may be wise
in thy latter end.
“There
are many devices in a man’s heart; nevertheless the counsel of the Lord, that shall stand.”
I
know our Father meets with His children all through the day, different times, different places. I
am just blessed that I am allowed to meet with Him the first thing each morning on a One-to-one basis.
Whether
morning, noon, or night, I pray that all of God’s children learn how to shut out the many voices
of the world. I pray that they enter their prayer closets, and shut all doors to the outside…whether
family, friends, or television, and practice hearing CLEARLY the COUNSEL of their Lord…daily.
His
Counsel shall Stand!!! And we won’t always be wondering where to go and what to do. (Galatians
5:16 LBP).
“I
advise you to obey only the Holy Spirit’s instructions. He will tell you where to go and what
to do, and then you won’t always be doing the wrong things….” (like wrong choices).
Even
Jesus said that He only did what the Father showed Him to do.
Praise God! What Wisdom. What Love,
that our Father provides the Holy Spirit to show us the way.
