WHY
DO WE ENCOURAGE OTHERS
TO
GET
OUT OF THEIR BOATS?
“Little
Boat Junkyard”

Why
do we encourage the youth to get out of their physical boats and walk on the water…totally trusting
God to supply all their needs? Because we are the ones who have done this many times and know
by experience that God can be trusted to supply more than enough for those who will follow Him with
their whole heart.
Perhaps
you are an older person in terms of your physical life. Perhaps God has brought you into a safe
quiet harbor for this season. He may be using you now, NOT in the great challenging competition
of Faith, but to pray for and encourage the next generation of Believers. To show them how to
step out of their boats when the Lord calls.
When
our Lord says, “Go”, we “Go.” When He says “Stay”, we “Stay.” When
He says “Come to Me.”, we come and follow Him. We can trust Him. He doesn’t
say, “Go by yourselves. He promises to Go with us.”
This
is why learning to hear His voice and blocking out the voices of the world is so important. We
need not fear that we are ever making the wrong choice when we have asked God for wisdom. Not
wisdom as the world calls wisdom, which is the wisdom of man. But a much HIGHER WISDOM which is
the Spiritual leading of the Holy Spirit.
One
of the best things a young person can do when their time comes to step out of their boats and walk
on the water with Jesus, is to read stories of Faith. Stories of others who have stepped out of
their boats.
It’s
the end results that matter. I’m not saying that they won’t get water splashed
in their faces. I’m not saying that the world will love them or appreciate what they are
doing, because God’s Word already tells us they won’t. But the Higher Call…the
Higher Love…the Higher Cause…is so far above the world, that people who have never Stepped
Out of their Boats will NOT understand.
However,
an adventure with Jesus is so exhilarating, satisfying, and right…that no one will ever be sorry
they stepped out of their boat…to follow Jesus whole heartedly.
Can
you imagine the stories they will have to tell to their children and grandchildren as God’s Word
has told us to do? By their example, their children and grandchildren will know how to do the
same. What Joy! What Freedom! We can trust God, recognize His call to us, and step out
of our personal boats to TOTALLY TRUST Him!
Psalms
78:4 says about the sayings of old that our fathers have taught us, that “We will not hide
them from our children, showing the generation to come the praises of the Lord, and His strength, and
His wonderful works that He hath done.”
Verses 5 through 7, continue this same message, even showing that God commanded this.
SKY
DIVERS
For
some reason the word “skydivers” comes to me at this time. To me, it is a foolish
adventure because God has not called me to do that. He may have called someone…but not
me. It seems to be a good example of man putting his trust in other men or himself. But
to those who have had this experience, it must be similar to the FREEDOM Christians experience when
they forsake all to walk with Jesus.
Yes,
at times they will fly high with Jesus. But other times, they will receive the satisfaction and wholeness of
work-work-work, and having their feet planted securely on the ground.
Their
work will have eternal significance. They will hear their Lord’s voice clearer every day. Sometimes
He will ask them to work. Some days He will ask them to rest. Other days He will ask them
to follow Him in play. But their hunger to spread the Message of God’s Love and Salvation
will always be the driving force behind their desires and actions.
GREAT SAINTS
OF GOD
This
is getting long, so tomorrow I want to tell you about some of the great saints of God, that the Holy
Spirit put in my path to teach me the importance of Getting Out of the Boat. I wanted to insert
Mama Dodge’s picture here among some others, but until my scanner is repaired, I won’t
be able to do that. I want so much to tell you about Mama Dodge. I know of no one who knows
better what this lesson means.
So
for today, I will give you a picture of one young man whom I have seen get out of his boat many, many,
times. He will tell you himself that he has never been sorry that he did and continues to do so
daily. My son, G.F.
Praying
for a child with Aids in Africa.
I
was so much in the spiritual boat with my young friends yesterday that the Lord had to remind me this
morning how many times He has led even me…to step out of my boat.
Neither
have I ever regretted it. It wasn’t easy, but the calls were always so strong that I could
not deny the pull of His Love. Nor can I deny the results I experience today. Many times
I did not know where God was taking me…but I know now that He never allowed me to walk the Sea
of Life alone. Now His purposes have become crystal clear as I see the many places we have been
since I got out of my many boats of man-made security and walked with my Jesus.
Would
you take a minute today and consider the many times God has helped you get out of your own little boat
and step out for Him? Just think about them and Praise Him! He never left you alone but called
you to more adventures with Him.
I
love the saying, Faith Is a:
Fantastic
Adventure
In
Trusting
Him.
THE
FIRST STEP OF FAITH

The
first step of faith that any of us take is to step out of our personal boats and ask Jesus to become
Lord of our life. He gave us the Faith to do that! He will continue to give us Daily Faith
as we walk hand in hand with Him wherever He leads. We cannot know the Joy of the next steps God
has planned for our life, if we have not taken the first.
If
anyone receiving “Fresh Bread” today has not taken this First Step, my prayer is that you
will simply pray and ask Jesus to be your Lord…forgiving all your sins and allowing you to Walk
on the Water with Him in His ever increasing Light. He will do it!
And
He will be more thrilled about your choice than you can ever know. It’s always God’s
will to bless His children, and when they humbly come to Him…He will do that!
Praise
God! I see many people getting out of their boats and walking on the water with Jesus today. I
see them laughing together and enjoying a new Freedom.
