BLOOD and FIRE
PILLARS of SMOKE
(Joel 2 & Acts 2:17-21)

         “And I will show wonders in the heavens and in the earth, blood, and fire, and pillars of smoke.” (Joel 2:30).
         “Know this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation, not by the will of man, but as moved by the Holy Spirit.”
                                                                                       (2 Peter l:20-21).

         Joel 2, is one of my very favorite passages and has been for a some time…ever since the day the Holy Spirit poured it out on me.
         To this day, I cannot read Joel 2 without getting stirred up by the Fire of the Holy Spirit.
         In 1990, I was standing by my kitchen sink. Having spent time with the Lord, I still had the Bible in my hands. It fell open to Joel 2. I was already excited, anticipating a National Christian Women’s meeting in San Antonio.
         At this same time, I was walking out a vision God gave me of “CampFires”; small home prayer groups, scattered on the mountain tops, yet connected by communication between each other that we called “Smoke Signals”. We were all Fired-Up for Jesus…which had become the name of a radio show, God gave us.
         As I read these words in Joel, the fire in my spirit exceeded any fire I had ever felt before. It engulfed me and wrapped around me…penetrating my very spirit.

This was the season when I was walking in the “warriors mentality” and as I read about God’s Mighty Army in verses 1-11, I knew we were that army. In the spirit I was running with these men and women, climbing the walls, as in verse 7. Not one soldier jostling another, but each marching in their specific assignment from God; not breaking ranks.

“And the Lord shall utter His voice before His Army; for His camp is VERY GREAT.”
I believe if you read Joel 2, taking it personal…putting yourself in the picture of God’s army…you too, will become Fired Up for Jesus. You, too, will become excited about His eminent return.

Soon after this experience, I heard a taped sermon by Pastor Walter Hallam and he was seeing the same things I was seeing. He too, was Fired Up. What a great confirmation the Lord so generously gave me.
I continued to hear the words: “Blood, and Fire, and Pillars of Smoke.” It was then, when I was driving home after an Aglow Meeting in Uvalde, that I looked at the sky. I couldn’t miss it. A cloud of bright red was covering most of the blue sky. It took my breath away as I knew what it was. It was the blood I had read about. It seemed to have the soft texture of a smooth plastic that feels good to the touch. It was beautiful and strong and remained in the sky above me…all the way home, which was at least 45 minutes.

There were many key words the Lord imprinted on my spirit.

Blow the Trumpet and Sound the Alarm.
Wake-up the Mighty Men
Let the Bridegroom go forth of His chamber
Let the Bride out of her closet
Harvest is Ripe….Press is FULL…
Multitudes in the Valley of Decision
Put ye in the sickle…It’s Time.

         I was encouraged this week. Fourteen years later, after I saw my vision, I heard Oral Roberts saying he had the same vision. Our Lord confirms His Words to us. And that is comforting…just as the Blood I saw in the sky had some meaning of comfort to me.
         I would not remember the year it happened except the Holy Spirit had given me an Angel Food Card to draw what I was feeling at that time and the date was on the back. I never printed it up, and could have so easily lost it, but the Holy Spirit encouraged me to find it this morning. I went straight to it. Our Lord had it handy and available.
         So you are receiving the original card that I drew in 1990. I hope you catch the Fire from it…that you receive the Fire Power that comes from Reading God’s Word and Hearing His Holy Spirit speak to your spirit personally.
         FEAR NOT! Joel 3:16b says, “…but the Lord will be the hope of His people and the strength of the children of Israel.” Joel 2:27 says that we shall KNOW that HE is the Lord our God!
