DAY STAR

Awake
at 3:00, then 4:00 a.m., and finally able to come to myself by 5:00 a.m. It was so dark outside. I
tossed and turned and battled my old desire for my husband. I considered the many people in
the world who felt hopeless, in pain, in confusion. Despair almost overtook me. When would
it turn light?
Then
I looked at the small lamp on the table at my left. “Thank You, Lord for electricity.”,
I said. “A Light in a Dark Place.”, I thought. How could people ever survive attacks
from the enemy if they lived in total darkness…before candles, lanterns, or electricity?
God
said, “Let there be light…and it was so.” Thank You, Lord. We are children
of Light and we cannot live without it. You gave us the sun by day and the moon by night. But
right now, I see neither of these. Just total darkness.
TRAVAILING PRAYER
I
had heard about “travailing prayer”, but didn’t understand how people got into
it. Did they just say, “Okay, Lord, I’m going to start crying and whaling, and praying?”
Perhaps
others can just step into it, but our dear Holy Spirit had to allow me to experience it before I
could understand.
It
began this morning as I was crying for myself. It expanded as I cried for the many others God
has asked me to pray for. Darkness… everywhere. How could I break through?
Depression…a
common malady for prophets as I’ve heard. If I couldn’t have my husband’s
arms around me, I was ready to go on to Heaven because I knew Jesus would be glad to put His arms
around me.
So
I travailed and travailed, wept and travailed some more. Soon, I knew I was travailing for my
Lord. I was travailing for His Bride, His desire to have her come home. I was praying
for all of God’s children who were walking in darkness, blinded by Satan and couldn’t
find their way home to God.
The
words, “A Light in a Dark place”, had already come to me. I knew this meant Jesus. And
the old song, “When the battle’s over, we shall wear a crown…in the New Jerusalem.” By
this song, the Holy Spirit was reminding me that we are in a battle. But it won’t
last forever. Jesus is coming soon.
And
He says, “Those who endure to the end shall be saved.” (Matthew 10:22). We
must endure until Jesus comes. But, Praise God… not every day is a battle like this. Since
He woke me up so early, I sensed there were battles going on in the heavenlies and He needed me to
pray. I just didn’t know specifically who He wanted me to pray for. So I prayed in
the Spirit and with understanding.
Once,
through prayer, I broke through the darkness in the spirit, I looked out my window and His natural
light filled the earth. Praise God!
“DAY STAR”

“Day
Star” has meant to me for a long time, that spiritual light that comes to me each morning
after I have read God’s Word and visited with Him in prayer. All is well. My world
has returned to order.
It’s
a lot like remembering that “Joy cometh in the Morning.” (Psalms 30:5). I can
count on it. So does His “Day Star” arise in my heart each morning if I will wait
for it. No matter how dark things look in the natural…His Day Star (wholeness) will come.
Yes,
I was prompted to look up the scripture and this is what I read:
“We
have also a more sure word of prophecy, whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a Light
that shineth in a dark place, until the Day Dawn, and the Day Star arise in your hearts.” (2
Peter 1:19). Also, please read verses 20 and 21.
ACTION: If you feel God is calling
you to serve Him with all your heart, you do not need to be deceived. In Matthew 10, Jesus
tells you in Red Letters…your mission, persecutions that will come on you for the sake of
the Gospel, instructions on HOW to deliver His Word, and Hallelujah…the Rewards.
WAIT
FOR THE
“DAY STAR”
HE’S
WORTH IT
