FORK IN THE ROAD
&
(Little Donkey)

God
grants us a season to walk with another Believer. Be FREE to part when the time comes; when you come
to a fork in the road and God says: “I want one of you to take the North road and one of you
to take the East road. When I say ‘This is the way, walk here.’, you must be Free to Go.
“I
have plans for each of you. Like the little donkey when I said: ‘Loose him. I have need of him.”
“Neither of you are to waver about your obligation to man, but free to follow your duty to Me. If you follow Me, the man situation
will take care of itself. You cannot do all things. No man can.
But
I can and I will…as My children learn
to hear My voice, walk in My Peace, aside from religion and condemnation.
“My
plan for you does not have to be difficult when you learn to hear my gentle directions.”
Then the
Lord said to me from His Word, “What I tell you in secret, you can shout from the housetops.” This
is my reminder to hold on to the truths God reveals in our morning quiet time.
“Seal it Father.” I said. “So the devil can’t
Steal It.”

LONGER VERSION
“LITTLE DONKEY”

The
short version above says what the Lord was showing me. But if you would like a little more explanation
you are welcome to read what the Lord showed me about “The Little Donkey”. God has used
that little donkey to speak to me many times in the past. And he is usually saying something a little
different as he also surprised me this morning by what he said. No! the donkey didn’t really
talk to me but the Lord sure did, through him.
I
looked up the verses Matthew 21:2-3 where Jesus said;
“Go
into the village over against you, and straightway ye shall find an
ass tied, and a colt with her: Loose them, and bring them to Me. And if any man say ought unto
you, ye shall say, The Lord hath need of them; and straightway he will send them.”
After
I finish my special time with our Lord each morning, usually asking questions about specific events
in my natural and spiritual life, the following song usually begins to play in my mind. It too,
is a prayer of acceptance and praise for His simplified directions. Oh, how I love simplicity.
(Proverbs 3:5-6).
I
love it when I hear the Holy Spirit say to my spirit, “This
is the way, walk here.” (Isaiah
30:21 (TLB). And Galatians 5:16 (TLB). “I advise you to obey only the Holy Spirit’s instructions.
He will tell you where to go and what to do.”
The
old song I hear is: ♫Wherever He Leads I’ll Go.♫ It also says, ♫I’ll
follow my Christ who loves me so, wherever He leads, I’ll go.♫ It’s not because of
traditions of men, but His Pure Sweet Love…that draws me to follow Him. I know in my heart that
He is the only Way. When I follow Him, I won’t get lost.
“If
any man (or woman) serve Me, let him follow Me; and where I am, there shall also my servant be….” (John
12:26).
I
want to be where Jesus is. How about you?
CONNECTION
Between
The
Little Donkey and Fork in The Road
I’ve
always been fascinated about the little colt that Jesus told them to untie and loose because He had
need of him. I never noticed until this morning that Jesus also asked that the mother be loosed and
that both of them be brought to Him because He had need for both of them. (Matthew 21:2-3).
WOW!
I often thought of the colt as my sons, but I never noticed the mom. Oh well, surely there are many
lessons to be taught from this verse.
But
the Lord is leading me in the direction that when He calls us, He has a plan for each of us. I see
a fork in the road ahead.
There
is a season when two people may be tied to each other in a ministry or growing time, and they walk
very closely for that season. But the time may come when God’s Word can be more productive
as they are loosed even from each other.
I’ve
found through the years that God always gives me at least one special friend who is so “one-in-the-Spirit” with
me, that we find great comfort in being in agreement with what the Lord is showing both of us at that
time.
Then
He brings someone else into my life for another special season of learning. By His Spirit, God let’s
me know when that season is past and that He desires we take different directions.
I
see a Fork in the Road. It is as though God is saying, “I
need one of you to take this path, perhaps to the North and I need one the other one to take this path
to the East. Will you each obey Me?”
Today I am
not thinking about my natural sons and myself, although that too is partly true. Today, the Lord is directing
me about a wonderful teacher He placed in my life for a very important season.
My
teacher and I are both led by the Spirit and both willing to go where God leads us. I pray today that he
has heard the same message I received. I will not be surprised if he has.
And
just as the colt and his mother, neither knew where or how Jesus wanted to use them…they
knew they were FREE to SERVE as long as they followed Him. Even, should He say to the colt, “This
is the way…walk here. I want you to take the road to the left.” And if He should say to
the mother, “I need you over here. Will you take this road to the right?”
I have need of you both.
FOLLOW
ME!
I’ll show you where to go and
what to do.
TRUST ME!
WALK
IN MY FULLNESS …TODAY
FULLNESS OF FAITH: That I have good
planned for you.
FULLNESS OF JOY: Because
I have called you to serve Me.
FULLNESS OF
WORTH: Because I NEED you.
FULLNESS OF LOVE:
Because you cannot help but follow strong
after
My Love.

So when you come to that Fork in the Road…
What will you do?

I pray that it will be a pleasant place for you, as it is for me, when
I feel certain
I have heard from our Lord.
