ADDICTIONS
“Addictions
are habits of temporary comfort…usually
a replacement for an unknown need.”
Looking
at “addictions” from
this perspective, I think you can agree with me that addictions are not SIN, but HABITS which are subject
to change.
It’s God’s desire that
His children seek Him, one on one, so the Holy Spirit can reveal their needs. Seek God personally, then
ask Him to fill that need to the FULL.
There
are addictions (habits) that are good for us physically and spiritually. There are also habits (addictions)
that are not good for us physically or spiritually. They can be outside attacks of the enemy to hurt us,
or they can be blessings from God to draw us closer to Him in a more intimate relationship.
Even
those that frustrate us and we do not desire to have in our physical life, can also bring us to the feet
of Jesus…asking for His help and listening to the Holy Spirit’s
advice. When the Holy Spirit speaks to you, it is not a voice of condemnation, but one of hope, with
a gentle plan of action that fits only you.
Addictions
are just habits. No more. No Less. When we call them SIN “in” us, then we see
ourselves as SINNERS and the burden becomes too heavy for us to battle. The worst thing you can call
a Child of God, is to call them a “sinner”.
That’s
what Satan gets a kick out of calling you, especially when you believe him. But our Father said:
“Whosoever is born of God (second
birth)
does not commit SIN; for His SEED remains
in
him: and he cannot sin because he is
born of
God.” (I John 3:9).
Satan
is the accuser of the brethren (children of God) who accuses them day and night as witnessed in Revelation
12:10. But God sent not His son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him
might (could) be saved. (John 3:17). Satan accuses…God
saves!!!
Each lie of Satan that we expose, will
give us more freedom to serve our Lord. Isaiah 10:27 says: “And
it shall come to pass in that day, that his burden shall be taken away from off thy shoulder, and his
(the enemy’s) yoke from off thy neck, and the yoke shall be destroyed because of the anointing.”
The anointing (presence and power of the Lord)
is revealed to us as we spend private time with our Lord, however He leads us to do so. Whether reading
His Word while asking for revelation, or especially just talking to Him, then being quiet and allowing
Him to speak to us personally. We are unique…and
it’s to this uniqueness He wants to speak. He has a good plan for you and me. The anointing comes
when we hear what He desires to share with us one on one.
I
repeat: Seek God, one on one, to reveal your unknown “need”.
Then ask HIM to FILL that need to the FULL. Even if you are not convinced yet of what that need is,
TRUST God to FILL it.
As I was searching out
this answer for myself, knowing it can be different for each of us, I heard the Holy Spirit remind me:
“But God shall supply ALL your
need,
According to His Riches in Glory.”
(Ephesians 4:19)
Then
He reminded me as he has so often told me: “My Grace is sufficient for you.” as
he told Paul when Paul was going through a similar struggle.
NO,
an addiction is not SIN. It is simply a habit…NOT
to be FEARED, subject to change by the Grace of God.
So,
release yourself from the lie that addictions are SIN inside of you.
No,
they are only tools of Satan. You can stand stronger against unwanted addictions (bad habits) when you
understand that they are not some frightful, blown out of proportion, thing that has control over you…except
through the lies of Satan.
He has blown this
accusation up so full scale in your mind (his playground) until the lie has become so ridiculous…that
God must reveal the Truth to you…before
the lie destroys you.
LET’S BURST THE DEVIL’S
BUBBLE
TODAY!!!
LETS POP HIS BALLOON
Let’s
burst the Devil’s bubble today. Like a huge balloon that has reached it’s limits.
Take the S/word of the Spirit, God’s Word, and with just the tip of your sword like a fine pointed
needle, enjoy the fun of popping his balloon.
Destroy
the Lie with the sword of the Spirit which is Truth.
Say: “No
weapon formed against me can prosper. I have
been
redeemed from every court room lie.”
(Ephesians 6:10-17 The Armor Prayer).
And Remember: I John 3:8a “For this purpose
the Son of God was manifested that He might (did/does) destroy the works of the devil.”
“Addictions are habits of temporary comfort…usually a replacement for an unknown need.”
“Seek God for your need.”
