Fresh Bread
# 13
Good Morning Father, Jesus, Holy Spirit. “As
far as the East is from the West, is how far You have removed my transgressions from me.”
(paraphrased) Psalms 103:12
DO NOT DISTURB
WHAT
DOES GOD SAY TO YOU?
When
God calls you aside unto Himself to be taught by His sweet, tender, refreshing Holy Spirit, other voices
are just so much noise and clatter.
How very
blessed I am to have arrived at His appointed place for me to sit at His feet, shut out the world,
and simply listen to Him, as He has expressed in the Song of Solomon, “Come apart with me,
My love.”
How I praise
God for the many evangelists, teachers, preachers, missionaries, musicians, and youth who are speaking
forth His Word today. I pray and desire that they are each being led by Him through the special calls
He has on their lives. But, since He created us all, He knows even me, and how my heart desires this
quiet intimacy with Him.
Praise
God! Even now I limit the number of evangelists I listen to, the number of preachers I go to hear, the
magazine articles I read. I even limit the books I read.
When
God has given you one word to study and meditate on, all the other sermons become distractions from the
single daily lesson the Holy Spirit is revealing to you.
One
word from God can change your whole life and the direction you are taking in His plans, to use you in
His Kingdom. You don’t want to miss
what that word may be.
Praying
quietly in the Spirit, keeps me on track as I listen to what our Lord, the Holy Spirit, would say to
me.
“Be
still and know that I am God. No weapon formed against you will prosper. You have been
redeemed from every courtroom lie.
“Tell
My people…they
have been redeemed. ╬
“Not
only do I seek the lost, but I also desire for My children to be Free to Serve Me, un-encumbered by the
weight of false SIN. (SIN in a BOX).
“You
must continue the work I’ve
assigned you on I John 3:9. I will continue to give you the information.
“It’s
in this quiet time that I can speak this to you.”
It
must be very difficult for Christians with busy lives to find this wonderful quiet place that God has
so abundantly provided for me…now
that my children are grown and I live alone.
My
only suggestion would be to let your family know that you are going into your prayer closet for one hour.
No one is to disturb you. You will do the same for your husband/wife or each family member while they are
in their closet.
Put
a sign on your door: DO NOT DISTURB. (This is my private time with God.)
Wouldn’t
it be nice if the whole family entered their individual prayer closets at the same time? Television turned
off, phone turned off…ignoring any distractions, sign on the front door saying:
FAMILY IN PRAYER. PLEASE DO NOT DISTURB UNLESS AN EMERGENCY.
If
you are young and don’t know what to do, once you have entered your prayer closet…you
can start off as I have for years. Either read one chapter of Proverbs and five chapters of Psalms, or
have a clean sheet of writing paper and a pen…and begin writing a letter to God. You can use what
I have used as an example and allow the Holy Spirit to help you write your own Letter to God.
Example: “Good
Morning Father, Jesus, Holy Spirit. This is the day that You have made. I am rejoicing and glad in it.
I TRUST in you with all my heart and lean not unto my own understanding. In all my ways I acknowledge
You and You direct my paths. No weapon formed against me can prosper. I have been redeemed from every
courtroom lie. Seeking FIRST Your Kingdom and Your Righteousness, I know all these things shall be added
unto me.”
Then I pray
and often write…the Armor Prayer that God gave me from Ephesians 6:10-18.
I gird my loins with TRUTH
I
put on the breastplate of Righteousness
I
cover my feet with the preparation of the Gospel of Peace
I
take up the Shield of Faith
And the Helmet
of Salvation
And hold forth the Sword of
the Spirit (S/Word)
Which is the Word of
God.
With my armor in place,
I
come against ALL the rulers and powers of darkness
Who
would seek to take me captive,
And I bind
them
In the Name, Power, and Blood of Jesus
And
place a protective hedge about
My life, my family,
and all those You have called on me to pray for.
In the Strong Name of Jesus, I pray.
After this, it is so easy to go into prayer for those the Holy Spirit brings to your mind.
“The bottom line,” (a
term my older brother Glenn uses so often) is that God wants to speak to you personally. Not what He
is telling certain evangelists, or great Bible scholars, or other people. If you are only listening
to what He is telling other people, (kind of like ease dropping) you will miss what He wants to speak
only to you.
How
our Heavenly Father longs for intimacy with His children. How His Holy Spirit desires to teach His children.
How our Savior, Jesus, longs for us to accept the Freedom He provided on the Cross.╬
