DO NOT TRESPASS
(Forgive us our trespasses as we forgive others.)
Trespass” means to go on someone else’s
property when there is an obvious sign that says: DO NOT TRESPASS.
I don’t make excuses for God and I’m not making excuses for His children, but it is important
for a child of God to know the difference between a “trespass” and a “sin”. Otherwise
they become overly burdened with what they think SIN is in their lives.
The
dictionary says that “trespass” means:
to make an unwarranted infringement; an unlawful act committed on the person, property, or rights of
another; to enter unlawfully upon the land of another. It means to encroach, entrench, infringe, or
invade: to violate the bounds of good taste.
The
trespasses of a child of God [His SEED] are different from the trespasses of one who has not been born
again and who remains the Seed of Satan.
When
a man flirts with another man’s wife…he has trespassed onto that man’s territory.
The same is true of a woman who entices another woman’s husband. She has trespassed the boundaries
that God initiated for the protection of earthly families.
Those
who remain Satan’s seed
because they have not received the SEED of God at the time of their New Birth, will do this without
any concern for the property owner or his God. This is SIN and can only be forgiven by that SINNER
coming to Jesus, repenting, and being washed clean by the Blood of Jesus. He is then TOTALLY forgiven
of that and ALL his sins. He is no longer a SINNER, but now, a SAINT.
The
next time Satan tempts them they may fall…but it won’t
be fatal.
They are sincerely sorry because
they NOW have a New Nature and their NEW MAN hates SIN. If they aren’t
taught different, they will think that SIN is still in them and may think that they must not have been
saved after all.
No one has taught them that
SIN is an outside attack on the children (SEED) of God. SIN will still be all around them in the world…but
when they learn to see SIN in a BOX, separate from them and who they are in Christ, the temptations
to trespass will become less and less for them.
It’s
the idea that they are still a sinner – seed of Satan…that makes them feel
weak. This is a typical LIE of Satan…which is the real SIN attacking them and the Cross…and
needs to be kept with other lies in the BOX.
That’s
why we pray in the Lord’s Prayer, “Lead us not into temptation.” In
other words, “Lead us away from temptation.”
When we learn how to ‘walk in the Spirit’ and
go each day where we sense the Holy Spirit is leading us…we will not be led into temptation. It
is the devil who sets up the temptations. It is the Holy Spirit who makes us aware of the dangers of trespassing…and
our Heavenly Father delivers us from evil. (Matthew 6:13).
The
closer we are to our Father, the safer we remain from temptations to trespass on anyone else’s
property.
“Draw close to Me and I will draw close to
you.” (James
4:8a). It is the SAFE PLACE .
The Old Man – premeditates
on SIN. He enjoys sinning and for him ALL is SIN…even trespasses
are SIN for him. But, for the New Man…a trespass is just an unplanned trespass, and of course,
he is sorry, repents, and tries again to do better.
“He was wounded for our transgressions
(trespasses),
he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon Him; and with His stripes we are healed.” (Isaiah
53:5).
“And you, being dead in your sins…hath
He quickened together with Him, having forgiven ALL trespasses.” (Colossians
2:13).
“To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling
the world unto Himself, NOT imputing their trespasses unto them: and hath committed unto us the Word of reconciliation.”
“For He hath made Him to be SIN for us.’
(2 Corinthians 4:19, 21a).
SO
“Whosoever is born of God doth NOT commit SIN; for His SEED remains in him: and he CANNOT sin, because he is born of God.” (l
John 3:9).
Jesus either PAID IT ALL, or He
didn’t pay AT ALL.
He paid To the FULL for you and me…and to all of those who will receive His FULL PAYMENT. Now
we are FREE to SERVE Him, unencumbered with the burden of false sins. Let’s move out with the FREEDOM
of
HIS
FULLNESS in US.
