THE  OASIS

As seasons come and go…from time to time…we find ourselves walking in a dry and parched land.  Our spirit dries up.  What seemed alive and vibrant yesterday disappears into ashes on the desert sand.
Where did it go?  Where can we find that peace and hope again?  So, we trudge on across our hot dry desert…seeking that sweet presence of our Lord…searching for His slightest foot print in the shifting sands.  But, the winds of adversity have blown away any trace of His steps.  We feel hopeless and lost.
IN THE NATURAL

Have you ever felt like your own words were DRY?  Someone needs your encouragement and what you have to offer is about as nourishing as an old piece of dried toast.  If you can’t give them something better than that, you just as soon say nothing at all.  You know when your own words are “dry”, tasteless, and without the anointing which is like His oil on a fresh salad.
Oh my, I pray for the whole Body of Christ because we all experience these dry places in our walk with our Lord.  We are so connected as a body that I believe when one of us is hurting, then very likely others are as well.

OUR  OASIS

However God does it, I have no idea.  But as we wait upon the Lord…our strength is renewed.  Our hope is restored as we arrive at His Oasis.  He has already prepared this place for us.  He is our Oasis and Time with Him in Prayer and His Word…brings the refreshing we need daily.

WHAT IS AN OASIS?

It is described as a place or period that gives relief from a troubling or chaotic situation.  It is FERTILE LAND in the DESERT, where the level of underground (unseen) water (His Word) rises to or near ground level (where we are).

AND
Where plants grow.

AND
Travelers (us and others) can replenish their water (spiritual needs) supply.

ELIJAH AND THE
JUNIPER TREE

Oh my, while traveling through our desert where we feel nothing and hear little, we may often feel like Elijah under the Juniper tree.  (I Kings 19:4-7).  He was so depressed he asked God to let him die.
But, as he slept, an angel touched him and said, “Arise and eat.”
And when he looked, behold, there was CAKE baked on the coals, and a cruise of WATER at his head.
And, he did eat and drink because God knew Elijah had poured out all he had…on the desert sand…and needed the strength of God to continue his journey.
Surely, Elijah found his Oasis in his desert just when he felt like giving up.

NOT A MIRAGE

Be assured that your Oasis is not a mirage, although it may seem that way at times.  It is a REAL PLACE God has prepared just for you to fellowship with Him.  It’s fertile ground in the middle of your desert.
Fact is:  Our TRUE GOD is always near us, within the reach of those who seek Him.  And if we seek Him early, we shall find Him because Acts 17:27 says:  “God desires that men (we) should seek the Lord, if haply they might feel after Him and find Him, though He be not far from every one of us.”

HE IS OUR
OASIS
