BY AND BY
We’ll Understand It Better
By and By

God provides all our needs.  Sometimes I wonder how certain books came into my possession.  They are there when I need them.  I don’t have to look for them: they are easily accessible. What a blessing!  Thank You, Lord.

Our Hymnals
(Of course yours may not say Baptist)

We might as well keep a hymnal with our Bibles as we prepare to meet with our Lord in the morning.  At least, I might as well.  Although I start out by reading God’s Word and prayer, phrases from an old hymn will come to me unexpectedly…like an answer to what my spirit is seeking that day.
Searching for the old hymn in my hymnal is a lot like searching the concordance of my Bible to explore more of a “word” that God brings to the forefront of my mind as a simple path for my day.
A few verses can become the summation of all I read.  Usually, they are words of comfort.

ENCOURAGEMENT

We are living in a Great Day, yet perplexing, when we don’t read God’s Word which prepares us for such a time as this.  We no longer have to Fear the unknown because God tells us in His Word all about it and prepares us for it.
So, = (az – אז ) walking in the Light (what understanding that we have), we find great comfort in the words:
BY AND BY
“We’ll understand it better – by and by.”

Obviously the words that came to me were “By and By”.  The chorus goes like this.  Many of you will remember:
♫By and by, when the morning comes,
When the saints of God are gathered Home,
                               We will tell the story
                               How we’ve overcome.
                                      We WILL
                               Understand it Better
                                                By and by.♫
[If you would like to see the verses, they will be at the end of this Xala Bread]

TO MY PEERS

The longer we live on this earth, the more significant becomes the date of our birth.  How old were you when this song was given to men to write and arrange the music?  Or, how old were your parents or grandparents?  Did they face the same challenges we face today?
This song entitled When The Morning Comes was written by Charles A. Tindley, born in 1851 and lived on earth until 1933.  He left earth 2 years before I was born.  J
The arrangement was give (by God, I believe) to B. B. McKinney whose journey on earth began in 1886 and ended in 1952 when I was a sophomore at South Park High School in Beaumont, Texas.  Where were you at this time?

BAYLOR   BEARS

I think my mother, born in 1900, knew B. B. McKinney.  I’m not sure.  But I remember her talking about him.

B. B. McKINNEY’S   SON

All we knew B.B. McKinney’s son as, was Mr. McKinney, but he was a favorite teacher for me in the Baylor Theater (Drama Dept. at Baylor).  He taught Play Writing and said we must write about what we knew.
Some of us girls rented his house when he and his wife were called to go somewhere else for awhile.  I have no idea where they went.  It wasn’t important to a young Baylor Co-ed at that time.  But, crossing paths with him made a difference in my life.  And, somehow, seeing his name on this song, is another sweet blessing from our Lord.

BE  BLESSED

“Be” means to STAY…stay blessed.  So, I pray today, that you too, see the many ways our Lord is blessing you today…large or small.  They are all precious.  And, when life seems tough…just remember:

WE’LL  UNDERSTAND  IT   BETTER
By and By
