WHY  ARE  YOU  CRYING?
“I don’t know.”

“Cast not away your confidence.  It has great recompense of reward.  Search the scriptures and find out.”

Cast not away therefore your confidence, which hath great recompense of reward.  Hebrews 10:35

Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me.  John 5:39

These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so.  Acts 17:11

TEARS

When, in prayer, your tears flow softly down your face, and you wonder where they are coming from.   Could it be from the very throne of God?
For loves lost, and dreams unfulfilled, and no one seems to care.  No person can take this sadness away.  Your soul grieves for relief.
Captured in a state of mourning, you long for the Light of His presence which arrives daily as does the sun.  Like Malachi 4:2 says that the Sun of Righteousness arises with healing in His wings and we shall go forth and grow up as calves of the stall.  So, you wait and continue searching the scriptures.

GROANINGS
(that cannot be defined)

You pick up your Bible, and Holy Spirit leads you to Romans 8:19-27 where you are reminded that you are not the only one who is “groaning” in your spirit.  These verses also explain “why” (lama).
Could our tears be evidence of Jesus’ tears for us?  Do our tears mingle with His?  Are we encouraged to know that He is aware of our infirmities (weaknesses) and that, at this very moment, the Holy Spirit is interceding for us with “groanings” that cannot be uttered?  He cares.
He searches our hearts and prays for our needs according to the will of God.  As we wait before Him, He will often reveal to us “why” our hearts are groaning, “why” the tears fall with some unknown yearning.
Then, in tenderness, He encourages us by directing us to words of comfort in His Word, like this one that reminds us:

          All of His children groan.
          The whole world groans.
          Even our Lord groans.

As, in the deepest recesses of our hearts…we all groan.  Why?  Our spirits are waiting for the redemption of our bodies and our world.

For we know that the whole creation groaneth and travaileth in pain together until now.  And not only [they], but ourselves also, which have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for the adoption, [to wit], the redemption of our body.  Romans 8:22-23.

GROANING  FOR  THE  FUTURE

On the surface we often think we are groaning for something in the present.  A new home, a new family, a new purpose, a new goal….but, deeper in our spirits than any of these, is our hearts’ desires to see the return of our Lord, Jesus Christ.  Even when our minds don’t seem to grasp this, I believe our spirits understand.  Therefore, there are times we find ourselves crying and don’t really know why.
And when Holy Spirit has searched the deepest recesses of our hearts and has revealed to us the True Reason we find ourselves groaning so often…the earthly things we thought we desired so desperately seem irrelevant in comparison to the Glory of His Return…when He brings all things into perfection.
And at that time…God shall wipe away all tears from their (our) eyes.
(Revelation 7:17, 21:4).

PATIENCE

Then do we with patience…wait for it.
We wait because we know…that He will surely come.

HOW?

Did you notice that God tells us in Romans 8:23 HOW we are to wait for this great coming of our Lord?
Yes!  With PATIENCE.  For He shall surely come and He will not tarry.  (Habakkuk 2:3).
