(Global  Positioning  System)
His Holy Spirit
  
YOU  GET  THE  PICTURE

          Once again, I think this picture can give you the whole message as you understand how I write…considering all things as relevant to presenting the message of our dear Lord.  You have to read no further unless you want to.  Those who have time and choose to travel on with me today, come along.  Otherwise, I exhort you to please consider for a moment how our dear Holy Spirit is a much better GPS (Global Positioning System) than the one in your car…if you have one or plan to get one.  You may not need it if your spiritual GPS is well in tact. (Smiles).

          Where are you going today?  How will you get there?  What route are you taking?
          How is it we seem to enjoy a straight line…a straight path, compared to the crooked winding path?  In Matthew 3:3, John the Baptist was identified as a man with a message:  “Make straight the way of the Lord.”
         
ALL  ROADS  LEAD  HOME

          The family unit is symbolic of God’s desire for His children to come home.  He sent John the Baptist as a voice in the wilderness…telling us to prepare the way of the Lord…to make His paths straight…so that we may easily find our way to Him.  His Word is His Map.  Follow His directions.  He will speak to you daily saying:  “This is the way…walk here.” (Isaiah 30:21 Living Bible Paraphrased).
GPS

          My brother Bruce recently gave me a GPS.  Just how easy can God make things for us?  And still we don’t see His provision…lessons that teach us about Himself.
          The GPS is so like the Holy Spirit.  You just tell it where you want to go.  It knows where your home is and can always bring you back there.
          You need to decide first…where you want to go.  You may have no idea how to get there but the GPS sees far ahead and will take you to your desired destination.
          Should you decide to take a side trip or a short cut off the given path, the GPS simply says:  “RECALCULATING”.
          It accepts your decision and “recalculates”.  It will now tell you again HOW LONG this trip will take and your designated time of arrival.
          It even speaks to you in an audible voice saying, “Turn Right Here” or “Go Left”, and sometimes “Turn Around and Go Back”…so many miles.  So like our Holy Spirit on our daily directions in life. 
          Sometimes it says, “Straight ahead for the next 13 miles.”  At that point we can sit back and relax because we know we are on the right road, but it will be awhile before we reach our destination.

GLOBAL  POSITIONING

          Yes, GPS stands for Global Positioning System.  Our Lord has a system as well, and surely our dear Holy Spirit is God’s spiritual GPS to get us where He desires for us to be.  He positions us on earth, helping make paths straight for His Return.
          His plan is already laid out and our destination is already programmed into it.  (Jeremiah 29:11)  “God had good planned for you with a future and a hope.”  Will we follow it?  Do we know where it is taking us?  Do we know how long it will take?
          He does!

WHAT IS OUR PART IN THIS?

          We have an early decision to make which is necessary to this journey.  We must decide where we want to go _ today, _ tomorrow _ or for eternity.
          We program it in…and follow His Directions.

CONVERSATION  IN  PRAYER

          Then I heard a Voice in my spirit ask:  “Okay, so where do you want to go today, Gwen?”  And I felt a smile.
          “Now, don’t get religious on Me.  Be honest.  Is it someplace you feel you need to go but are having a hard time getting there?  Hmmm, maybe like getting your Income Tax done and out of the way so you can continue on a straight path?”
          Yes, Lord.  That’s it for me today.
          “Then TRUST ME.  Just program it in and I’ll get you there.  Trust Me.  Relax.”
          Gwen:  What if I take a detour, Lord, as I type this message?
          “No problem  I will simply recalculate.  The time (zman) you planned to arrive at your destination will be a little later…but, you can Trust  Me.  If that’s where you want to go today, I will get you there.”
          Gwen:  Thanks Lord.  This is a great relief to me.  And Thank You for your Earthly and Heavenly GPS...global positioning systems.  All things that were created were created by You and for You and Your children.

A GIFT OF LOVE

          My precious brother Bruce, from a heart of love, gave me this earthly GPS, set it up for me, taught me how to use it, and even paid for the guarantee on it.  Our Heavenly Brother has done the same by giving us His Gift of Salvation and His gift of the Holy Spirit.
          Yes, the flesh and the Spirit can walk hand in hand to the Glory of God…teaching all men…the Straight Way Home.  (Matthew 3:3).
