LIMITED
VISION

Children are usually born with clear natural vision to see the beauty of God’s world.  As people age, their natural vision seems to diminish and things of the world are no longer as bright and enticing as they once were.
However, the beauty of growing older is that, as our natural eyes become dim, our spiritual eye sight increases daily with unlimited possibilities.
Once again, we no longer consider “loss” but enjoy the “gain”.  With this expanded vision, we gain understanding of things we could only see in the natural.
The natural is only the Starting Place.

ONE  EXAMPLE

Is the Way we Look at Church Buildings

I’ve been connected with church buildings all my life.  Each had something special to “teach” me about Jesus.  But, each was also limited in “something”.  I wasn’t sure what was missing, but I knew there was something I could not SEE or know.  My vision was limited and it bothered me.
When I realized that all these buildings were just a Shadow of Things to Come…(Colossians 2:16-17), I began to see something more.  As a child builds a sand castle, a young man his earthly home, pastors build elaborate synagogues or earthly temples to glorify God, these are only Shadows of things to come.
SYMBOLS

ARE PREPARATION FOR
HIS
GLORY

Recently, my friend Louie was explaining something symbolic in the Catholic Church.  My increased interest in the Jewish culture and feasts have created a greater awareness in me of the importance of symbols.
Man was created to worship his Creator and God has created symbols everywhere so that they point man to God.  Whether it be trees, sky, rivers, children, homes…little wood churches or great cathedrals, man seeks to know and Glorify God to the best of his VISION.
We are not to worship symbols or buildings, but whatever we SEE or whatever we DO, that it all be to the Glory of God.  Churches are just one of the symbols that show the way to the Temple of our Lord’s choice.  The one that abides in you.

THE MYSTERY
(Colossians 1:26-27)

Clear 20/20 spiritual vision is increased by knowing what God’s Word says.  If we want to SEE His true tabernacle…where He dwells…we don’t have far to look far.  His temple is within us.
And we can worship there with Him night and day.
IN HEAVEN, WE’LL
SEE
THE TEMPLE

But it won’t look like our churches here below…for there, the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are the Temple.  (Revelation 21:22).

These are Shadows of Things to Come
