THE YEAR OF “XALA” BREAD
2008

As our dear Holy Spirit so often Draws Me Pictures to explain what I am hearing and seeing, this is my simple sketch from my prayer time with Him this morning. I’ve asked my friend Melvyn in Holland to also work on a graphic of this design. The Body of Christ can be so helpful to each other.
Our Lord has continued to impress on me that this is to be the Year of Xala Bread for the Angel Food Blessings ministry and the simple messages He continues to give us to share with each other. It is pronounced “hala” in English.
It continues to be Fresh Bread (Angel Food) arriving each morning. However, this year, it is to be Fresh Xala Bread.
I see a huge loaf of warm bread; steam rising from it, fresh from the oven. Not cold, hard, moldy, crusty, wrapped in saran wrap, or stored in a cupboard. No! It’s fresh, warm and tasty. The aroma fills the atmosphere. Something about its warmth, freshness and aroma, is drawing us to it. (Like a fresh anointing.)
TRANSPARENT
Once again, in my transparency, I too, only see it, smell it, and am drawn to it. I do not know exactly what it is. (Manna? What is it?) If you have more information about the meaning of Xala Bread…also called Challah Bread…please share with me.
XALA BREAD
What is Xala Bread, Lord?
I asked my Hebrew teacher, Sari, the difference between Lexem and Xala bread, as they were words given in our vocabulary lesson.
Lexem – (bread) לחם
Xala - (bread) חלה
I asked which was the more spiritual as the Angel Food I write is more spiritual than natural. She said xala must be more spiritual because it is eaten on the Shabat (Saturday, 7th day, day of Rest, Israel’s Holy Day)
Shabat = שבת .
NOW
I must also share what I am seeing. This beautiful loaf of warm, fresh bread is sitting on a mountain top.

CLIMBING THIS MOUNTAIN
I shall try to stop here because, as I release my faith to learn more of “Why?” (Lama in Hebrew), our Lord is giving us Xala Bread this year…and what it means…my spirit is flooded with possibilities of its meaning. Perhaps you too, are already receiving some.
LAMA? (Why?) למה
Number One: There is a connection with Israel especially relevant to us during this time as we all pray for the Peace of Jerusalem.
Another question for me personally. Lama? Why did our Lord lead me to take Hebrew lessons? Although I am not the best student in the class, I am being fed…little by little…and love what our Lord is showing me…for His purpose, which by Faith I receive because I do not see them ahead of time; only when they come to pass. But, each TIME I see them, I am so blessed and grateful that I obeyed His unction in my spirit to get on line, and by faith, learn the language of Israel.
MARY DAVIS
I think it was Mary Davis or maybe Shirley. I can’t remember exactly who said this to me. I hope they will remind me when they read this Fresh Xala Bread.
When I told them I felt the Lord wanted me to learn Hebrew, they said, “Maybe you will be teaching us Hebrew.”
I laughed. I couldn’t imagine such a thing…because surely I am the least in the class and it takes so much effort for me learn. How could I ever see myself as a mora (teacher) מורה of Hebrew?
Yet, one word at a time, our Lord seems to have me share with you. If one word from our Lord can change a person’s life…then perhaps one Hebrew Word, anointed by God, can change a life…point us in a new direction…Upward…higher…hungry…and filled. Walking up the mountains of Jerusalem…to a higher level of Faith and expectancy than we have ever tasted before.
XALA
חלה
Yes, Surely Jesus is our Xala.
AT THIS TIME
At this time…I ask you to seek our Lord (our dear Holy Spirit) to see what He will show you personally as what the word “Xala” means to you.
For now…when I say “Xala”…all I can relate it to in the natural is “Holy”.

As we climb the mountain, we will learn more. Let’s Keep Climbing!
Each taste, each flavor, is sweeter than the day before. It’s Always Fresh. And as the Angel Food book says…. Let’s “Serve it while it’s Fresh…Serve it while it’s Hot.” |
