GIFTS OF LAW AND GRACE

Oh my, something has happened to my Bible.  No matter where I open it, I see God’s love and plans for Israel.
There were years in my life when I didn’t see the Holy Spirit mentioned in my Bible.  Then, one day I did, and this awareness changed my life.  Now, the same has happened about Israel.
I confess.  When I first open my Bible in the morning, I am seeking something personal, like a desire for renewed faith in my own life.  It’s called “The Comfort of the Scriptures.”
Today, I was led to Romans, Chapters 8-12.  I couldn’t stop reading once I began, understanding truth after truth as my eyes recognized more and more of the goodness of God and His Great Plans for all of us…the Jews as well as we Gentiles.
Of course, a standard verse in all of this has been available to my mind for a long time:  Romans 10:17.  And I give credit to Pastor Walter Hallem in LaMarque, Texas where God led me to attend the school of ministry.
Pastor Hallem had us, as a congregation, repeat this verse over and over until it was sealed in us.  I praise God for Walter’s obedience.  It has restored my weak faith many times.  It says:

Faith cometh by Hearing
And
Hearing by the Word of God.

ONCE THERE IN THE WORD

Once there in the Word…our Lord began to review His Love and Plans, not only for Israel but for all of us Gentiles.

THANKS  BEN

Thanks to God for sending Ben into my life, who opened doors for me to learn much about the Tribes of Judah.  Bit by bit, more veils are lifted from my eyes to see God better through the lineage of Abraham and Jesus.

GOD HAS GOOD PLANNED
FOR
ISRAEL

With a future and a hope.  (Jeremiah 29:11).  And what is our part in all of this?

FOR A SEASON
(Spirit of Slumber Romans 11:8)

For a season, it’s as though our Lord allowed His beloved Israel to take a nap (go to sleep)…as their eyes were closed to the whole truth.
While they were sleeping, God took care of the rest of us…the Gentiles…the Wild Olive Trees.  Praise God!  He grafted us in and loves us as much as He loves Israel.
While the Jews (not all of them) slept, many Gentiles were receptive to receive Jesus by FAITH.  They had not grown up under the LAW as had the Jews, so it was much easier for them to Receive by FAITH.

JEALOUS
(Romans 11:11)

In using the Gentiles to Receive the Better Way, the way of Faith in Christ rather than their own works, our Lord was hoping for the time when the Jews would awaken and see the FREEDOM of the “wild olive trees” (Romans 10:17) and would desire this same freedom from the Law for themselves.

THE GIFTS OF LAW AND GRACE

The Jews gave us the Law.  Now, we are to give them (show them) God’s Mercy.  We each have a gift to give to the other.  (Romans 11:30-31).

For as ye in times past have not believed God,
yet have now obtained mercy through their unbelief:
Even so have these also now not believed,
that through your mercy they also may obtain mercy.

WHEN WILL THEY WAKE UP?

When the FULLNESS OF THE GENTILES comes to pass.  (Romans 11:25b).  Aren’t you seeing that this is near?
“And so all Israel shall be saved:  as it is written, there shall come out of Zion…the Deliverer.

LAMA?
(Why?)
Because of God’s Great Love for us!

? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ?

My prayer is that this article will lead others to more questions.  Questions are our friends.  They lead us to Jesus…the Answer to all our needs.  We search the scriptures for in them we find wholeness for our hungry souls and hope for our futures.
Acts 17:11b says to search to see if what I say is True.
They received the word with all readiness of mind,
 and searched the scriptures daily,
 whether those things were so.
