“SOAP  SUDS”

Wash Out Your Mouth

Bars of Soap

How long has it been since you’ve had a good “mouth washing”?  When did mothers stop using that good ole tradition of washing their children’s mouth out with soap when they said a dirty word?  When did we stop using that tradition on ourselves?

Some people wash their bodies, feet, and even their hair daily, but by-pass their mouth.  Just because we brush our teeth doesn’t mean our mouth is clean.

No.  That’s not good enough.  As long as dirty words are still coming from our mouth, it has not been washed with the “Water of the Word.”  (Ephesians 5:26).

I PUT ON MY ARMOR
EVERY DAY

DAILY:
I gird my loins with TRUTH.  I put on the breastplate of Righteousness.  I cover my feet with the preparation of the Gospel of Peace.
I take up the Shield of Faith and the Helmet of Salvation, and hold forth the S/word of the Spirit which is the Word of God.
With my Armor in place, I come against all the rulers and powers of darkness which seek to take me captive and I bind them in the Name, Power, and Blood of Jesus.  And place a protective hedge about my life and my family and all those God has called on me to pray for.  In the Strong Name of Jesus, I pray.  Amen.

(Ephesians 6:10-19)

For years now, I have prayed and put on the armor of God from Ephesians 6:10-20, but verse 16, referring to the shield of Faith which quenches all the fiery darts of the wicked, requires a good “Mouth Washing”.
I have been beginning my day on the defense, rather than the offense of a clean, faith-filled mouth.  Where’s that Bar of Soap? J  I think perhaps I shall keep a ‘bar of soap’ (one of those sweet smelling ones) beside me as I go about my business today.
Now days, people seldom misplace their cell phones.  They are either in their pocket, purse, car, or somewhere handy. I charge you today to keep your ‘bar of soap’ just as handy, as a reminder of your plans for today.  Even a small one you collected from your last stay in a nice hotel.

OUR  GRANDCHILDREN

God’s Word says…. “a little child shall lead them.”  This can have many meanings according to the circumstance we are facing on a given day.
As when my grandson called me this morning to pray for him because he was not feeling well.  I knew I must increase my faith.
In the process, our Lord reminded me of my “dirty mouth” and the need of a personal old fashioned “mouth washing”.

CHARLES  CAPP’S  BOOK
God’s Creative Power

The Holy Spirit directed me right to where I had left this little book in my den.  It became my “Bar of Soap”, totally full of God’s Word.  His good, clean words…not dirty words.  Faith Words; not Fear Words.  Faith is what God tells us about the Power of His spoken Word by us.
If you don’t have a copy, I encourage you to order one at www.harrisonhouse.com or pick one up at a Christian Book Store or on line.
It can be the spiritual Bar of Soap you need today.  When the  scriptures in this book are used regularly, you won’t have to hear the words of a tattle tale little sister who comes running home from the neighbors, who may be accustomed to using a foul language, and saying, “Mama, GET OUT THE SOAP.  Johnny said a Bad Word.”

GET THE SOAP!

ESTABLISH  HIS  WORD
On Earth

We must SPEAK it out loud.  God’s Word is already established in Heaven (Psalms 119:89).  Let’s do our part to establish it on earth by saying out loud what God says, not what the devil says.  God’s Word is not void of power, but many of His people are void of speech.
Most of you I am writing to do not need to be reminded of the Power of God’s Spoken Word.  We only need to be reminded to wash the filth from our mouth…the filth of unbelieving words.  We must hear ourselves speak God’s Word and not the devil’s.  (Romans 10:17).

MOUTH  INSPECTION

Let’s  line up for a Mouth Inspection; each checking our own mouth.  I will be the first to repent because I know God’s Word is true.  And in a nut shell, His word says:
1.  My Word is not void of Power.  My people are void of Speech.
2.  I have told My people they can have WHAT THEY SAY (Mark 11:23),
but they are SAYING WHAT THEY HAVE.

So, What did I Say?

MY DIRTY WORDS
X-rated

1.  “I get nervous every time I take a Hebrew Class on Line….”
So…..I continue to be nervous at that time.
2.  “I am lonely.”
          So…..I stayed lonely.
3.  “I am depressed.”
          So…..I remained depressed.
4.  “My day goes too fast.”
          So…..it just went faster.
5.  “My mind is cluttered with too many thoughts.”
          So…..it became more cluttered…more thoughts.
6.  “I look awful.”  (Mirror).  It got worse.
7.  “I don’t understand.”
          So…..I continued to Not Understand.

OUCH!

These were actual statements I made.  There were many other thoughts that were never spoken out loud.  Thank God!  Yet, even these bothersome thoughts can be erased when we learn to speak God’s Word out loud over them.

MA, WHERE’S THE SOAP?

After a good Mouth Washing and plenty of soap suds, I’m ready to begin my day…with a Clean Mouth; pure motives, hope, and faith in my own future established by the Word of God.  God Words, clean words, healthy prosperous words….  A fresh new day and way of doing things

NEW  DAY - NEW  MOUTH
What do you think?

Can we do it?

PRAYER:  Yes, Lord.  I believe that what I say comes to pass (good or bad).  So, before I speak…I must ask myself, “Is this good or bad?”  You, God, have good planned for me with a future and a hope.  (Jeremiah 29:11).

TO MY DEAR FRIENDS AND FAMILY

Please do not talk “dirty” to me.  And if anything I say, has even a smudge of dirt (doubt and unbelief) on it, Please…offer me a BAR OF SOAP and I will know what you mean.  Ha.  Really!
Would you believe my pretty pink bar of soap that I keep with me these days…has a Dove imprinted on it?  You know what that means.
