Pray for the Peace of Jerusalem

Psalms 119:165

HOW ???
If we have a question, Jesus is always the Answer. “Pray for the Peace of Jerusalem.” A simple direction to pray. Just Pray it. Just do it!
I must honestly say until this morning I really had no idea of anything better or more heart felt to pray, than that simple prayer. Surely I could find a more meaningful way to pray for Jerusalem.
A STEP UP IN PRAYER
Perhaps growing a step up in maturity, past the step of childhood desires seeking blessings for ourselves, many have prayed Psalms 122:6 allowing our thoughts to rest on the second half of the prayer. The second half of the prayer says: “they shall prosper that love thee (Jerusalem).” Have we prayed this prayer secretly desiring prosperity for ourselves? That does come because God said it would.
If we do nothing more than pray this simple pray: “Lord, I pray for the Peace of Jerusalem.”, we have been obedient. And our Lord will honor our prayer and use it in the fulfilling of His plans on earth.
However, this is a great question to meditate and pray about as we search for more ways to pray for the Peace of Jerusalem. Doing a Walk-About (concordance) on the word “Peace”…will give us more ways to pray for the Peace of Jerusalem. Psalms 122 gives us more insight in what our Lord wants us to pray over Jerusalem.
We can begin with verse 7 and pray, “Peace be within her walls.” Verse 8, they are our brothers and companions so for their sake we SAY, “Peace be within thee.”
Verse 9. Because desires it, we seek good for Jerusalem and pray PEACE for them.
Psalm 119:165. We can pray “Great Peace have they which love Thy law: [Is this not the Jewish people?] and we pray, confess, and confirm God’s Word… “that nothing shall offend them.”
CONSIDER ANOTHER WAY TO PRAY
How can we Pray for the Peace of Jerusalem? God loves her so much. What prayers have we prayed for ourselves when we desired Peace?
What promises have we stood on during these times?
It’s a start. Can’t we in all sincerity pray these same prayers for our Jewish brothers and sisters…that they stand strong in the Peace of God? That they know Him as the Prince of Peace; that they abide in a state of Peace when all hell seems to be breaking out around them? May Peace be within their walls.
PRAY - FOR – SOMEONE
This hasn’t happened to me often, but when God says for us to pray for someone, I have prayed FOR them. In other words, I would put myself in their place like Jesus intercedes for us. I would pray as though I were that person.
Now, as I read the promises God made to the children of Israel, I can confess these Words over them, praying that the roots of their great heritage begin to blossom in their hearts as never before. That veils be removed constantly, right and left, as they are coming home from far places and that they will recognize their Messiah as they come, so that they can Dwell in Peace…no matter what they face. I pray that their Faith will be established in Him; that Great Peace will come and they will abide in His love individually as each draws close to Jesus TODAY. I pray that they experience Life and Peace and Joy TODAY as many already do.
We pray for those who will also receive God’s all powerful, supernatural love and Grace…looking forward to His return, yet knowing He is already with them and abides In them.
THERE’S NO END
There’s no end of ways to pray for the Peace of Jerusalem. I encourage you to do your “walk-about” in your concordance, looking up the word PEACE, then applying it in your prayer for Jerusalem.
MY SPECIAL GIFT TODAY
As some of you know, this simple lass (gwen) has been studying the Hebrew language; taking a course on line. God knows why He wants me to do this. I simply accepted the task in obedience.
Today He opened my eyes to something I had never seen before. Reading Psalms 119 (yes, that long one), I began to recognize the titles that separated this long chapter. I never knew what they meant. Actually, I thought they were the writers of those sections.
But, today they looked familiar and I recognized them as letters of the Hebrew Alphabet that I had been studying. Especially Alef, Bet, Gemel,
Dalet, He, Vet, Zayin, Kof, Yod, Kaf, Lamed, Mem, Nun, Samekh, Ayin Pe, Tsadi, Kof, Resh, Schin, Tav.
Surely our Lord was reminding me to get back to my studies today. Pray for me Please.
And PRAY FOR THE PEACE OF JERUSALEM. It’s TIME.
