REDEEMING THE TIME
BECAUSE
THE DAYS ARE
EVIL
(Ephesians 5:16)
“How does one redeem time?” I keep asking myself when I read
this verse. “What does ‘redeem’ mean?”
The Dictionary Says:
1. To buy back
2. Repurchase
3. To get or win back
4. To free from what distresses or harms as:
a. to free from captivity by payment of ransom
b. to remove the obligation of, by payment (bonds)
c. to convert into something of value
d. to offset the bad affect
e. to make worthwhile

Redeemer
A person who redeems: Jesus
Webster’s Dictionary
Yes, even Mr. Webster used the name of Jesus in our dictionary. I
wonder if and when. His Name has been/or will be, excluded from our dictionary as from so many other places of public recognition. Research
is quite available to us now, even over the Internet, but, is this too, a redeeming of TIME? Or, is the answer so obvious
that we see what is happening in our world today?
THE DAYS ARE EVIL
As a child of God, you do not need to be told what is good and what is
evil. You know in your heart by the witness of the Holy Spirit.
REDEEM THE TIME?
I still ask “How?”
We understand and know that Jesus is the Redeemer; even of Time. But,
His Word is telling us to “redeem it.” How?
I believe that verses 13-15 of Ephesians 5 reveal one way. But all
things that are reproved are made manifest by the light: for whatsoever doth make manifest is Light. (Truth)
Wherefore he saith, “AWAKE THOU THAT SLEEPEST, and arise from the
dead, and Christ shall give thee Light. (understanding-awareness)
See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise,
Redeeming the time, because the days are evil.
WAKE-UP ALL SLEEPERS
AND DREAMERS
The Enemy is at the Gate
BE WISE
(Verse 14)
We are no longer children playing church or playing “war”. This
is Real! It’s greater than our individual needs. Is there not a cause? As David asked when he came to
fight the Giant. (I Samuel 17:29).
Yes, Jesus is coming soon…so what is He asking us to do…as
we Redeem the Time?
WATCH AND PRAY
If you think you are too old or too young to march in the infantry…you
still have a mighty weapon that is stronger than a two-edged sword. I encourage you to draw it from its sheath (scabbard)
and go forth in the Power of God’s Word.
WATCH: the news. Especially the Christian Broadcasts
LISTEN: to men and women of God who are informing us.
Check
your own spirit and allow the Holy Spirit to bear
Witness
of truth to you.
Yes, Be Wise. Be Informed.
OUR GREATEST WEAPON
TRUTH
Truth over Lies is the simple, bold action we must use. Seek the
need! Speak the Truth every chance you get.
God’s Word is Truth! And Jesus is Lord! Buy
back (redeem) the TRUTH…by covering each lie you hear with the Word of God. Be prepared to do so.
ARMOR ON
Once your armor is on each morning (Ephesians 6:10-17) do not leave out
verse 18 which exhorts us to Pray Always with all kinds of prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and WATCHING with all perseverance
and supplication for all saints.
And verse 19, that we may open our mouth BOLDLY, to make known the mystery of
the Gospel.
WORDS
ARE POWERFUL WEAPONS
Speaking God’s Truth in Love over every lie of the enemy can open doors to
free many (especially our enemies of the truth) from their captivity to the lies and deceit of Satan. For their sake and
our Lord’s sake…may we
Boldly Speak the Truth!
ON YOUR WAY TODAY
As you are about your personal earthly assignments today, may I encourage
you to practice this simple warrior drill?
“I will be awake and SEE what my Lord wants me to see. I will
say what He wants me to say. EVERY LIE THAT I HEAR TODAY…I WILL BOLDLY COVER WITH HIS TRUTH! I
will convert each lie into something of value. I will exchange the lie with the truth. I will offset the bad effect
of the lie…with the Truth. I will make my words worthwhile. Even each lie, will become an open door of opportunity
to Speak Truth in Love.”
This can be our simple weapon today.
TRUTH COVERS THE LIES
We are Redeemers of Truth! Praise God! Just like our Jesus,
Who is the Spirit of Truth. We are REDEEMED by the Blood of the Lamb. Do others understand this mystery referred
to in Ephesians 6:19? |
