BLOW YE THE TRUMPET
SOUND AN ALARM
(Joel 2:1)

TRUMPET CALLS
What can I do?

Nehemiah
4:20
This morning I received a phone call from someone very dear to me… a
true prayer warrior in her own rights. From high school athlete, to military, to girls coach in a small town, and on to
Colorado where God promoted her to the position of Principal of a high school. Along the way, I was blessed as she came
to live with me for a season. We both grew a lot in the Lord at that time.
Often a prayer request is a “Call to Arms” or a “Sounding
of the Trumpet” as Nehemiah said in Chapter 4, verse 20. “In what place therefore ye HEAR THE TRUMPET,
resort ye thither unto us: our God shall fight for us.”
As you read the rest of these verses you understand that while every builder
worked, they kept their sword girded to their side. And the one who “sounded the trumpet” stayed close by Nehemiah.
The body of Christ is so like this. There are many builders like
Elsie, Brent, Quintin, Debbie, educators you know personally who are on the physical battlefield for the lives of our future
generation that they will be Godly representatives of our Heavenly Father.
Like Nehemiah building the city wall around Jerusalem (Nehemiah 2:12 – God
put this in his heart to do), many came to prevent his work and tear down the good he was building. But he said:
“I am doing a great work…so that I cannot come down. (Neh.
6:3b).
WE ARE SWORDS
Oh, that we remain the sharp sword girded to their sides…the S/words
(swords of the Spirit) that our prayers constantly protect them as they build.
I see in the Spirit today…a covering over Elsie’s school
and other schools you and I may be praying for. Like a large canvas with four corners…representing our prayers
for good as the people (teachers, administrators, students, continue to build a safe place: a small city of their own…a
city within a city. You could say a “cluster” of strong Believers.
WHEN TRUMPETS SOUND
(The devil has to leave)

When trumpets sound…in a normally quiet, passive environment, all
people react. Nehemiah said in 4:18 that he kept the person close to him…the person he needed to sound the trumpet.
Trumpet calls require action. They are a warning that the enemy
is approaching or has penetrated a weak area in our wall. Neh. 4:6 refers to the wall being reconnected because the people
had a mind to work.
In 6:15, the wall was finished and the enemies (Satan and his crew) were
angry for they perceived that this work was wrought by our God.
BLOW THE TRUMPET
Joel 2 is one of my very favorite chapters in the Bible. Verse
one says: BLOW THE TRUMPET – SOUND THE ALARM.
Elsie blew the trumpet this morning as she called us all to prayer for
her school which is her territory.
The body of a young mother of three, was found murdered, under a bridge
in their small community. She was a cousin of many of Elsie’s students. Their school also lost a dear teacher
recently to death. This is extremely hard for young, tender hearts, like students. We must help Elsie and other
Christians in her school and community to Rebuild Their Walls, stronger than ever before with the determination that
this will NOT happen again.
ENOUGH SATAN! This is our sister’s territory and when she
blows the trumpet – sounds the alarm, we are coming to help with the Swords of the Spirit strong on us to Pray.
OTHER WALLS
OTHER PLACES
Each morning I pray a hedge of protection about my life, my family, and
all those God calls on me to pray for. Now is the time to pray for something stronger than a hedge. WE need STRONG WALLS.
I see “clusters”…small cities within cities. Cities
of Believers united in prayer and work – taking back and forcing the enemy (Satan) out of their territory by walking in
their God-Given Authority, building Walls of Faith so strong that Satan cannot penetrate.
FIRED UP TO PRAY
If you need to get “Fired Up” to pray, all you have to do
is read Joel 2 with revelation. Then you will be ready to do real damage to the enemy who comes to rob, steal, kill, and
destroy…and try to tear down your walls.
THE LAST TRUMPET

Surely the last trumpet we hear will be the most joyous when the angel
sounds the Seventh Trumpet: “And there will be great voices in Heaven saying, The kingdoms of this world are become
the Kingdoms of our Lord, and of His Christ, and He shall reign for ever and ever.” (Revelations 11:15) Praise
the Lord!
UNTIL THEN
Until then, we have a great work to do…building these walls, repairing
breaches. NOT running from Satan…but simply forcing him out of the territories where we walk and live and have divine
connections to help each other through prayer or works when any of us sounds an alarm and we hear the:
