Fresh Bread # 150
RECEIVE YOUR
DELEGATED
AUTHORITY

Oh, that our Lord will anoint my pen
this morning, that you may receive in your spirit what He placed in mine. Only through parables can
I come close to explaining what He explained to my spirit…the understanding of the authority He
has give to us.
To have this knowledge in our head is not sufficient enough to put it to
use. It must be revealed to our spirits…because we are spirit beings, living in an earthly body.
God is Spirit, and those who worship Him, must worship Him in Spirit
and in Truth. (John 4:24) “Truth” is the connection between our spirit and His.
WAIT UPON THE LORD
Each morning I wait for the Presence of our Lord. Some
times I wait longer than other times. But, His Presence always comes as I pray, praise, read His
Word…and wait.
This morning I recognized His Presence sooner than usual. Led by His
Spirit, I reached over and picked up a book I had been reading by Kenneth Hagin… “I Believe in Visions”,
where he was having a conversation with Jesus.
Surely Kenneth Hagen wrote down his conversations as I do, or they wouldn’t
remain so accurate. Well, maybe not, but he seemed to remember word for word what Jesus told him. And that “word” was
Angel Food (rhema) to me. It opened my eyes to a deeper understanding of something I had accepted by faith in my mind, but
did not understand by my spirit.
♫Open my eyes, Lord
That I might see
Visions of Truth
Thou hast for me.
Open my eyes,
Illumine me.
Spirit Divine.♫
IS THIS WHAT YOU WERE LOOKING FOR?
“Is this what you were looking for this morning?”,
the Holy Spirit, my Teacher, asked.
“Oh yes, Lord.”
It was the Fresh Bread I was hungry for. But, it was more than that. It
was something I had been looking for, for a long time and was not specifically asking this morning. (We don’t always
know WHEN the Holy Spirit will answer one of our questions that we may have been asking for some time.)
PRAISE GOD FOR
PARABLES
Our
lives are a collection of parables and we can call on them regularly to draw us the picture of understanding
as our dear Holy Spirit Teacher is explaining something to us.
IN THEIR CONVERSATION
Kenneth
freely asked Jesus questions and Jesus freely gave him answers.
At one point, an evil spirit that looked like a monkey, ran between Jesus
and Kenneth, spreading out something that looked like a black cloud or smoke screen. Kenneth couldn’t see Jesus anymore.
Then the demon began jumping up and down, waving his arms and legs, and
yelling in a shrill voice, “Yakety-yak, yakety-yak, yakety-yak.”
Now, Kenneth could still hear Jesus as He continued to talk to him but he
could no longer understand the words He was saying.
This demon was an agitating nuisance and Kenneth asked Jesus why He didn’t
command the evil spirit to stop talking.
Jesus smiled and said, “I can’t!”
“Why not, Lord?”, Kenneth was shocked. He thought Jesus
had authority over all things. Jesus had to give Kenneth scriptures to prove what He was saying before Kenneth could
receive it.
Jesus was saying: I can’t, but you can, because I have
given you (the Church) that Authority.
So, the demon didn’t leave until Kenneth took authority over it in
the Name of Jesus.
STRETCHING IT A BIT
Now, this may be stretching it a bit…but
it is the only way I know how to draw you a picture of what “ I ” sensed. It was like
a HOLE in the realm of God’s Authority. It had been taken out and given to us…for certain
purposes. I saw that there were areas where God did not have authority… like an empty place
in the realm of His Wholeness.
Jesus said to Kenneth (page 80), “You (Kenneth) might say, ‘But
You (Lord) could have done something about that evil spirit because this scripture (Matthew 28:18-20) says You have all power
and authority in Heaven and in earth.’ However, I have delegated My Authority on the earth to the church.”
(Mark 16:15-18)
Jesus continued: “One of the first signs mentioned that will
follow Believers is that they should cast out devils. That means that in My NAME they will exercise authority over
the devil. I DELEGATED MY AUTHORITY over the devil to the Church, and I can work only through the Church (Body of
Christ), for I am the Head of the Church.”
“RECEIVE”
YOUR
DELEGATED AUTHORITY
God
has designated and delegated His Power and Authority to us to take action against the devil and his plans
on earth.
Will we receive it?
KINGWOOD HIGH SCHOOL
My Parable
All of us have been in some position of authority
at some time in our life. That is our parable. Whether in the world’s work force or in
our home as a designated parent.
As all authority comes from God, many of us have been placed in positions
of authority over other workers and we understand what it means in the natural. So, we can relate to it in the spiritual.
When the Humble School District placed me in authority over the girls athletic
program at Kingwood High School, I understood that my principal Andy Wells trusted me to use my authority to run the program. He
had other things to do.
A good and wise administrator will only hire someone he has confidence in
to carry out his plans and do the job. He releases his authority into their hands…and doesn’t meddle with the
decisions they make. He trusts them or he wouldn’t have given them the authority of his good name.
A good administrator will also back the Word of the Delegated Authority. We
can count on this as we step out in God’s Word.
Of course, this isn’t always the way it is in the earth…as
far as earthly administrators. But, God has chosen us and delegated His Authority to us…to make changes on the earth…using
the Authority of His NAME.
WILL WE
RECEIVE
(our position of authority?)

If
we have truly RECEIVED our position of Authority…are we walking
in it, talking it, and acting it out?
Will we, the Church, the Body of Christ – individually and collectively,
step up and RECEIVE the honor of our position in Christ Jesus? Will we take on the responsibility
that goes with the Position of
Authority?
YES – YES – YES!
LET’S DO IT!
LET’S RECEIVE OUR DELEGATED AUTHORITY!
(The book of Acts continues today. Are our names written in it? I believe Kenneth Hagin’s
is, and many others who have taken their assignment of delegated authority seriously. Let’s
do the same.)
