TO THINE OWN SELF BE TRUE
Recently a friend said to me: “To thine
own self be true.” This morning I heard those same words ringing in my ear and I began to ponder
them as I was writing a letter to my grandson at college.
I knew this was from the Lord but wasn’t
quite certain as to how it “fit in” with what I already knew of our Lord and His ways. Yes,
aside from worldly wisdom or even to debate it with religion, I knew it meant something more.
So, as I wrote to him, encouraging him, I eventually
arrived at the conclusion that we are speaking about our “inner man”, our “spirit man”, who
in many ways, has become so connected to the Spirit of God, we can trust what we are sensing as TRUTH.
