God Needs to be Needed
We
NEED  TO  NEED  GOD!

The Creator of Heaven and Earth and All Things.

The words of my daughter-in-law (love) ring in my thoughts today.  She said, “A husband needs to know that his wife needs him.”
Well, this is true.  It honors and validates his position.
But the word “needy” has become very distasteful to most of us.  We have shied away from what we call “needy” people.  And, in our pride, we have done all we could to prevent that label from being placed on us.  It seems so degrading.
It has especially hurt us when we felt we “needed” someone to help us and they let us down.

At that point, we may remember saying, “Well, who needs you, anyway?  I’ll just do it myself.  I refuse to be a needy person.”  We have often, without realizing it, even said that to God.

IN  GOD’S  MERCY  AND  GRACE

In God’s Mercy and Grace, He allows us to experience “need” and also, experience our attempts at satisfying these needs by our own plans and thoughts.
Oh, prideful children that we are, we have been lulled into a false belief that we do not “need” God.
It’s only when we come face to face with situations that we cannot overpower even with our prayers, that we begin to receive His Glorious wake-up call…that we NEED HIM!  We have lowered Him from the throne of our life and think He has made us strong enough to carry on without Him.

THAT  WILL  NEVER  HAPPEN
LET HIM HELP YOU

It was never in God’s plans that His children would reach a point where they would no longer need Him.  Because of His Great Love for us, there will always be insurmountable obstacles or challenges in our life, to remind us of our NEED for HIM.
We must never forget that we need our Heavenly Husband.
Yes, it honors Him to tell Him every day, “Yes, Lord, I do NEED You.  I can do  nothing apart from You.”  (John 15:5).
Can you imagine the downward spiral of our faith walk should we forget that God is the Author of all things and that we, frail children, NEED Him more than we know?”

We  Must  SURRENDER
and  say:
“I  CAN’T  DO  IT!”

“Giving up” is not the same as “Surrender”.  Surrender has a sweet, peaceful, release of giving something over to God to “fix it” for us because we admit “We can’t do it.”
It’s when we finally SURRENDER and say, “I can’t do it.”, that we have taken the first step to real living.  Don’t feel sad about this.  It’s good for you because you have just put God back into His First Place in your life.  It’s important to Him and to you to know that you NEED HIM.

He is the One who will complete His work in you.  Therefore, we cannot leave Him out of the picture of our life.  We can’t separate the Artist from His painting.  We NEED HIM.  And the sooner we SURRENDER to our NEED for Him, the sooner we can walk away from religious traditions and center our TRUST on Him and Him only. Our faith increases that He will FIX what we cannot.

DON’T  STRUGGLE

Corrie ten Boom wrote a book named “Don’t Struggle, Just Snuggle.”
No, that isn’t the name of it.  It’s “Don’t Wrestle, Just Nestle”, but it means the same thing.  God is a loving Father; kind, generous, comforting, wise, protective, and understanding.  He wants you to come to Him with all of your needs because He wants to be the One who fulfills them for you.  It honors Him.
You may be struggling and agonizing over living the Christian life.  Perhaps you are trying to please God and feel as if you’re getting nowhere.
As Kathryn Kuhlman often said, “Quit trying and SURRENDER.  That’s all God asks you to do.”

So, Whatever is going on in your life today that you cannot fix,
Will you please SURRENDER it to God for Him to fix?

He can and He will.
And
Both you and God will be Blessed.
