Fresh Bread # 133
THE VIRTUOUS WOMAN OR EXCELLENT WIFE

This is Christy and her beautiful daughter Stevie. Christy
is the latest of the Bride’s Bouquet to come into my life. What a blessing she is with so much
potential and many gifts from our Lord.
From time to time I write a letter to the young women I call “The
Bride’s Bouquet.” There is one verse in Proverbs 31 that makes me think of myself. It’s verse 15
and says, “She rises while it is yet night, and gives meat to her household, and a portion to her maidens.”
I do know that I rise early and pray for my family and these young women. I
often prepare Angel Food for them. In case they are hungry, I like to have some spiritual nourishment available should they
call.
As far as the rest of the scriptures…hmmm.
A VIRTUOUS WOMAN
(Proverbs 31:10-31)
Oh, my, the first verse says it all with a question. “Who
can find a virtuous woman?”
When we look at her qualities in the natural, we want to say, “Forget
it. I could never be that woman.”
I think the young women of today are worn out and over-worked because they
try to be all of these things. Instead of seeing themselves as this, they try to make it happen in the flesh; in the eyes
of man and in their own eyes. Work – work – work. Perfect yourself so you will be accepted by man, the
world, and yourself.
No! That is not the way to do it. This scripture is showing
you who you already are in Christ Jesus. The day you came to Him and let Him wash away your sins…you became a new
person (woman)…complete in Him.
“For in HIM dwells all the FULNESS of the Godhead bodily. (We
are His body.)
“And ye (we) are COMPLETE in Him which is the Head of
all principality and power.” (Colossians 2:9-10).
We walk by Faith in His
Word, not by sight in what the world shows us as “lack”. Isn’t it awesome to see
yourself as the VIRTUOUS woman GOD says you are in His Son?
STAGES OF WOMANHOOD
When I first read this I became depressed. I
thought I saw myself in some of the verses. But, all of them? How could this be?
So, I decided to try harder. I did want to be that excellent wife
and virtuous woman.
Other times, when I read it, I felt condemned. In my eyes, I had already
failed at so many of them.
IN PLAIN ENGLISH
RATE YOURSELF

In plain English, let me list the 22 points of the Excellent Wife or
Virtuous Woman and let you see how you rate on your personal scale.
Are you: rare, trustworthy, constant in agape love, industrious, thrifty, self-starting, enterprising,
willing to do hard work, willing to work long hours, willing to do monotonous work, compassionate, prepared
for the future, good seamstress, married to a leader, an entrepreneur, not swayed by circumstances, wise
and kind, duty-conscious, blessed by your family, not satisfied by mediocre, a woman of God, praiseworthy,
woman of means, woman of great skill and ability, a demonstration of wisdom in your home?
How did you do? Were
you able to underline some of them?
A SIMPLE GUIDE

As I have tried to impress the importance of reading God’s Word daily
to my spiritual children, this is just one example. How will they know how to become a woman if they are not shown Thee Way? And,
how will they know what a REAL Woman is, unless God shows them?
The world sets examples and goals for them which are unattainable. It’s
so sad when they continue to try to be like the world, which they can no longer be, now that they belong to Jesus.
THEIR HEAVENLY HUSBAND
LOVES THEM
Have you ever seen the glow (Glory) on a woman
who knows she is loved by her husband? When he sees her as the Virtuous Woman and Excellent Wife,
then she accepts herself the same way. It no longer matters what the world says about her, or she
even thinks about herself.
All that matters is what HE says about her. She believes Him …and
in this BELIEF…she has finally found her womanhood…because she accepts and knows…that she is “COMPLETE
in HIM!” Praise God!
“And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all
principality and power.” (Colossians 2:10).
CONFESSION
“Confession is good for the soul (our emotions,
personality, sense of well-being). Romans 10:10 says: “For with
the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.” And
10:17 “So then faith [cometh] by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.”
When she begins to confess this to God, herself, and others, “I am
complete in Him. I am complete in Him. I am complete in Him. I
am complete in Him. I am complete in Him.”, she will go forth
with great joy and confidence because she has attained her “womanhood” by reading God’s Word (the truth) and
Believing Him.
Rivers of water will flow without ceasing from her spirit. They will
expand and multiply each time she now reads and confesses her womanhood in Christ Jesus.
LET THE WATER FLOW
DO THIS

May I encourage you now to read Proverbs 31:10-31,
confessing the woman you now know yourself to be in the eyes of your Heavenly Husband. And, if you
have a godly earthly husband, he will see you that way, also. He will have spiritual eyes to see
that this is who God made you in His eyes. That’s what counts in eternity.
You will be gloriously surprised by how the change of your inner person
will affect the lives around you as you “walk-on” in the truth of your personal womanhood, given to you as a Gift from
God. Just Receive!
Go back to verses 10, 11, and 12 in Proverbs 31 and respond like this.
“Oh yes, I have found the Virtuous Woman and she is “me.” And
I know that my price is far above rubies.
“The heart of my husband does safely trust in me. I do him good
and not evil, all the days of my life.”
Some scriptures you will see with a spiritual meaning; others, a natural,
and some both. But, each one represents “you” in some way because “You Are Complete in Him.”
