Fresh Bread # 128
IS GOD HIDING FROM YOU?

“Verily, Thou art a God that hideth Thyself, O God of Israel, the Savior.” Isaiah
45:15.
Have you ever felt like God was hiding from you? I
have. But, today I understand the TRUTH about His hiding. And the TRUTH was found in His Word,
prayer, and the teachings of anointed men of God.
YOUNG LOVE
TRANSPARENCY
May God continue to use my “transparency” to
bless someone that this will help.
I am not ashamed to say that God put my husband in my path at His appointed
time. Since I don’t think as the world thinks, I know God had a purpose for me to be attracted to this man.
No other man had the qualities that I sought in a husband, mate, help-meet. I
had no idea then, how many ways God would use this man to teach me more about Himself.
LIKE SOLOMON
Like Solomon in Song of Solomon 2:14, once I met
him, my heart cried out, “O my dove, that art in the clefts of the rock, in the secret places of
the stairs, let me see thy countenance, let me hear thy voice, for sweet is thy voice,
and thy countenance is comely.”
NATURAL
Oh yes, in the natural, I waited for him by the
stairs leading to our classroom above the gymnasium at Baylor University. I was hoping to see him.
Then years later, I waited to hear his voice…even a phone call. The sound of
his voice was like no other voice. It comforted me.
But soon after we married, he went into hiding and would not reveal
himself to me. Years went by and he seemed to hide even more.
Now, this was a natural man with natural reasons for doing things, but I
want you to see a current earthly example of a Heavenly Revelation of God and His ways.
Like in the Song of Solomon, the more my earthly love ran from me
and hid, the more I searched for him and desired him. Most of us have experienced this type of desire sometime in our life…as
we have wondered, “Why are you hiding from me?”
THE BRIDE’S TROUBLED
DREAM
(Song of Solomon 3:1-4)
“By night on my bed I sought him…[so
I went out to find Him…The watchmen found me and told me where He was…so I found Him and
held on to Him, until our marriage was consummated (example of Salvation).]
As you can see, I shortened this but you can read it all in verses l-4.
WHILE I WAS
SEEKING
God, our Lover (of our soul), was hiding from us,
perhaps behind the stairs. But, He was always watching us to see if we were seeking Him.
He saw all the things we did to get His attention…love notes, cherishing
His Love letters, desiring His Presence, wanting to KNOW Him better…seeking Truth. Oh yes, He was watching us all
the time…and He wanted us to find Him.
But, like Solomon, or perhaps your earthly true love, He does not show Himself
until He is “certain we are serious.”
Jeremiah 29:13 and 14 says, “And ye shall SEEK ME and FIND ME, when
ye shall search for me with all your heart.” “And I shall be found of you, saith the Lord….”
ARE WE SERIOUS?
God shows up when He is certain we are serious. Searching
is the death of self (desiring His Presence more than our earthly desires.)
The longer we search, the less of us remains. God withdraws in order
for us to FOLLOW.
I think now of my little dog Banjo. He smiles at me, wiggling excitedly,
enticing me…then, runs away from me. He wants me to FOLLOW him. And when I don’t know where he is…I
instinctively begin to call his name.
CLUES
From husbands to pets to trees. Everything
created by God has a lesson to teach us more about Him. Although He may appear to be hiding, He gives
us “clues” every day all around us.
Yes, God withdraws in order for us to FOLLOW.
There is a price for the Power of God in our lives that comes when we find
Him daily. The price is Prayer, Dedication to reading His Word, surrender of our will for His, and obedience to follow where
He leads us
daily.
WALK - ABOUTS
These are just a few walk-abouts you might like
to look up. The concordance in your Bible is FULL of clues about seeking and finding God.
(Job 7:21, Psalms 24:6, John 5:39, Psalms 63:1, Psalms 119:2)
OH WHAT JOY
Oh what JOY when we find His Presence daily. When
we experience our First Love anew each morning. He’s always near, watching us, to see who will SEEK Him
EARLY.
Proverbs 8:17 says, “I love those who Love Me, and those who SEEK
Me early, shall FIND Me.”
