GOOD SOUL TIES
“Oh my, oh my…Only God
can Simplify.”
I
feel like I have been on the most awesome Treasure Hunt this morning. I found clues here and clues
there as my excitement built seeking the answer to “What are good soul ties? And what is
the purpose of the soul, anyway?”
Oh, yes, I have so many questions and I know who
has all the answers. And He delights in revealing Himself to us. He delights in sharing His
knowledge with us. I understand how blessed I am to have the time to ask, then listen, and search
His Word for the answer that satisfies my soul.
But, this morning there was far too much for me
to pass on to others without God’s Holy Spirit verifying it to their spirits. Simplicity seems
to escape me in the wonder of all I read.
JONATHAN AND DAVID
Jonathan
and David, I think are a great example of “Good Soul Ties.”
It is not far from the same description we would give of our very best friend.
But, when I refer to “soul ties”, I
think I am referring more to “spiritual ties” because in them I recognize some people in my
life who are hearing the same things I am hearing from our Lord. It’s almost like we can talk
in short-hand; each understanding the other before a sentence is completed. Long explanations are
not necessary but can be shared at times to color the pictures for each other.
No foundation or background needs to be laid for
what we are sharing because our mutual background is the Bible.
A good spiritual soul tie then, to me, is someone
who is definitely One in the Spirit with me and I with them. We are tied to each other by our mutual
Love of Jesus and desire to know Him better and see His will done on earth as it is in Heaven.
