UNHOLY
OR UNHEALTHY
SOUL TIES
If
you have asked our Lord to Sever unholy or unhealthy soul ties in your life, do not be surprised when
He reveals (lifts the veil) to show you who they are. You will not know on your own without the
Holy Spirit showing you. He desires to set you FREE to worship Him and Him only.
(Micah 7:6, Matthew 10:36)
Soul
ties are unholy and unhealthy when they come between your Peace with God. They can rob you of your
confidence about who you are in the Lord. They distort your relationship with God. They devalue…who
you are to God…and shake your faith in God; often causing you to lose sight of the foundational
TRUTHS of His Word.
They rattle your cage…because you don’t know if they are friend or foe.
THE WAY
THE WORLD THINKS
The
closer you draw to God, the more He helps you distance yourself from the way the world thinks.
The sharper you SEE the difference between the way the world thinks and the way God thinks, the less you
begin to trust the world and the more you TRUST God.
This is wisdom!
LOVE YOUR ENEMY
NOT THE
WORLD
You
love your enemy (Matthew 5:43-45), but you don’t bow down to them, or encourage them in the ways
of the world. It is wrong to call evil good and good evil. “Woe unto them that call evil good,
and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for
sweet, and sweet for bitter!” (Isaiah 5:20).
I
John 2:15-17 says, Love not the world, neither the things [that are] in the world. If any man love
the world, the love of the Father is not in him.
“For
all that [is] in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is
not of the Father, but is of the world.
And
the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.”
KNOW YOUR
PERSONAL
ENEMIES
He
who is not for you is against you. (Matthew 12:30). Some of your enemies will be in your
own home (Matthew 10:37, 34-39), because you may have formed an unhealthy soul tie with members of your
earthly family and they may have formed an unhealthy soul tie with you.
In
either case, some of these need to be severed by God so that He is FIRST PLACE in all of our lives.
FRIENDSHIP WITH THE WORLD
IS
ENMITY
WITH GOD
(James 4:4)
Enmity: hostility, the extreme
ill will or hatred that exists between enemies.
Hate,
antagonism, bad feeling (dictionary definition).
Enemy: Unfriendly opponent…not
a friend.
Friend: somebody who has a
close personal relationship of mutual affection
and trust with another.
Ye
adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever
therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God.
(James 4:4).
BE NOT
CONFORMED
TO
THIS WORLD
(Romans 12:2)
Romans
12:2 says:
“Be not conformed to this world….” When we allow the world’s way
of thinking into our lives, we will begin to think like them and act like them and accept their values
and traditions. Soon our hearts will be dulled to the things of God and a blindness will cover our
eyes so that we become deceived like they are.
DON’T LET THE WORLD INTO
YOUR HOME
I
heard a story once about a poisonous snake that was frozen outside a man’s home. The man
had sympathy for the snake…picked it up, brought it into his house, wrapped it in a warm towel
and placed it by the stove.
The
serpent thawed out and lived. But instead of being grateful, it turned on and bit the man.
“Why
did you do this to me?”, the man asked the serpent.
The
serpent smiled at the dieing man and said, “You knew I was a snake when you brought me into your
house/home.”
EXTREME?
This
may sound extreme, but nothing is more dangerous than accepting the ways of the world; idolatry, abortion,
adultery and many other things that the world takes so casually that they no longer seek the ways of
God.
Little
by little we invite the world’s ways into our homes and push God out.
This
is our Great loss when we do this.
ONLY GOD
Only
God can reveal who our enemies are…in the form of unhealthy, unholy soul ties. I pray that
our hearts and motives are pure and honest before God when we ask Him to reveal them Otherwise,
we may think like the world and decide to break those ties ourselves…and it may be the wrong person. We
must LET GOD do it. We must “be willing” to LET HIM!
Let
Him, LIFT THE VEIL to show you the unhealthy, unholy, soul ties He is breaking for you so that there
will be no Enmity between you and God, as He rises once again to FIRST PLACE in your life.
REMBER
TO;
LOVE AND
PRAY FOR
THE
ENEMIES
OF YOUR SOUL
Remember
to LOVE your enemies because LOVE worketh no ill to his neighbor; therefore LOVE is the fulfilling of
the law. (Romans 12:11). Love your enemies, pray for them…just don’t let
anyone come between you and God and the fullness of His Presence.
And
pray that you will not be an enemy to someone else’s soul. Let God do the severing
and revealing (raising the veils) for each of us as we draw close to Him to hear for ourselves.
