Fresh Bread # 110
TAKEN WITH
A
“GRAIN OF SALT”

I’m not certain
where this saying originated, but it came to my mind this morning as, even I am
amazed by some of the Words I feel so strongly come to me from our Lord…as I
wait before Him.
As Paul said, “My
letters are strong but I come to you in weakness.” For [his] letters,
say they, [are] weighty and powerful; but [his] bodily presence [is]
weak, and [his] speech contemptible. 2 Corinthians 10:10.
The way people see
me in the natural is very different from what I may be hearing in the Spirit.
So that, even I, after having sent a strong message to someone, may even say,
“Oh my! Lord, I’m glad they do not let these words hurt them. I’m almost
relieved to think they may take these words “with a grain of salt” (casually)
at times, excusing my fervor for delivering our Lord’s messages.
When they consider
how I am in the natural, they are able to say, “Oh, that’s just her. That’s
the way she is.” So that they are not offended, as in my weakness (flesh), for
a moment I may be concerned that they could be.
GOD
ALWAYS WINS OUT
We each have many
calls on our life. God, through a process, has made it clear to me that from
time to time, He desires to use me as a messenger. Some messages appear
stronger than others. But He has tested me through the years and each time it
comes to the final question, “Will I deliver the message or will I play it
safe…keep it to myself…and not deliver it?”. God always wins out. He wouldn’t
give me a message if He didn’t consider it important.
It’s up to the
“hearers” whether they receive or not. My only duty is to deliver the
message. Then, I move on to something else.
WHY DO I SHARE THIS
WITH YOU?
Because some of you
may face this same situation and I want you to know you are not alone.
However, we learn
through the teaching and training of the Holy Spirit to recognize when we are
working from our own flesh (our own human desires) or if it is truly from the
Lord. That’s why I encourage anyone who has not welcomed the Holy Spirit into
their lives to do so now.
If you don’t have a
better source, or you are a young Christian and know you need more power and
wisdom in your life, please open your little Angel Food Book to page 39
“My Missing Dish”. Here you can read how our Heavenly Father provided a simple
understanding to me when I cried out, “Lord, there has to be Something More.”.
My life has never
been the same since the day our Lord revealed His Holy Spirit to me. I pray
the same for you who have yet to receive Him. It is a Great Awakening for any
of us.
GOD IS MY SUPPLY
I’m not trying to
promote my book. Many of you already have it. You can order it from me or
type in your search engine Gwen Watkins author Angel Food book…and
you will find other sources.
When my heart cried
out for God to Make It Simple (all this religious stuff), He had mercy
and compassion on me and the Holy Spirit led me step by step in the writing of
this simple, little book. My deepest desire is that it bless others as it has
me. It is a message of the Love and Kindness of God to a hungry heart.
And those who take
it with more than “A Grain of Salt”, will be blessed.
MORE THAN A GRAIN
Perhaps you see
yourself as only a small grain of salt, but God sees you as more. When Christ
abides in you, Jesus says about you…,
“You are the Salt of the Earth.”
And He encourages
you by saying, “If the salt loses it’s savor (flavor), wherewith shall it (the
earth) be salted? Without savor (flavor) it is good for nothing, but to be
cast out and to be trodden under foot of men.” (Matthew 5:13).
STUDY BIBLE
My study Bible
says, “Salt adds flavoring, acts as a preservative, melts
coldness, and heals wounds. Thus, it is a very appropriate
description of the Believer in his/her relationship to the world in which
he/she lives.”
ONE WORD FROM GOD
Do you see how the
Holy Spirit of God can use one word like “Grain of Salt”; salt it for
you, and your mind begins to consider more possibilities for salt in your
life than I can expound on here?
God wants you to
salt your own food. I am only a “Grain of Salt”, hoping to whet your appetite
for Something More that God will reveal to you individually.
WALK – ABOUTS
For those of you
who know what a “Walk-About” is, “Salt” is a great word to study. It adds
flavor to your understanding. It will be found on www.angelfoodblessings.com under
Fresh Bread 111.
ACTION
Go ye now…and ask
your lord, where you can add flavor to someone else’s life today.
BLESSED ARE THE SALT SHAKERS
I feel I must warn
you to read Matthew 5:10-12 because not everyone will appreciate the salt as
much as you do. But, I can promise with all sincerity, that once you get a
taste of God’s kind of salt, all that will matter to you will be to do His
will. You will be satisfied because good salt is TRUTH…and it is the TRUTH of
GOD that you know, that sets people FREE. (John 8:32).
