ANOTHER WAY TO PRAY
IF
IT BE THY WILL
TODAY

And Mary said,
Behold the handmaid of the Lord; be it unto me according to thy word. (Luke
l:38).
The more we get to
know God, the Greater we see Him, His Glory, His Majesty, His Magnitude.
And to think that
the One who created the world with a plan for every man…we can only be humbled
that He should care so much for one little person like you and me.
But He does!

When we were
younger, we felt God’s World revolved only around us. The more we mature, the
more we understand the work of His hands in the whole universe.
How I praise God
for sending His Holy Spirit to dwell in each of us…so that we never have to
feel alone in this big world. We have a friend who listen to us, talks to us,
directs us in the best course for our lives. Jesus said: I will NEVER leave
thee nor forsake thee. (Hebrews 13:5).
PRAYER
There are times
when we don’t feel like God is answering our prayers. It’s only a feeling; an
emotion. It is not true! He hears everything that is going on in the world,
and He hears the prayers of His children.
Other times, we
feel like we don’t know how to pray. All along the way of life, God is
teaching us different ways to pray.
Do you remember the
first time you prayed to God? What was it like?
Later, you learned
to pray with great boldness, using His Word, and taking authority over
sickness, disease, death, and pain. This was good because God has given His
children the authority over much more than they realize.
THEN THE SEASON
COMES
WHERE GOD IS GOD
And you feel you
are back to round one of your learning process. You know by your spirit that
there is still another way to pray.
So, you hear
yourself crying out once again like the disciples, “Lord, teach me how to
pray.”
It’s obvious in
God’s Word what God’s will is. Yet, we each have individual circumstances in
our lives where we are forced to make decisions and we don’t have enough
information to know how to pray. We’re not certain what we should ask of God.
That’s where the
Holy Spirit comes in as we ask Him to direct our thoughts and our steps. It
frustrates us when our old pattern of praying seems limited.
So, once again we
say, “Lord, teach us how to pray.”
THIS TIME
We come to a wise
decision. We return to the simple prayer of the disciples in Matthew 6:9-10.
“Our Father, who are in heaven…Hallowed be Thy Name.
Thy kingdom come
THY WILL BE DONE
On earth
(even my present situation)
As it is in Heaven.”
FAITH COMETH BY HEARING
(Romans 10:17)
As you repeat this
prayer over and over, your faith begins to rise so that you are comforted by
the belief you have in God, that His will IS being done in the situation He has
placed in your heart to pray for TODAY.
It’s not that you
don’t care or desire to be relieved of the burden of prayer; rather it’s
knowing that God will make the best decision for the situation or person you
are praying for. That is your desire. God will honor this prayer and
appreciate it as you are honoring His decision in all things.
He has a plan of
ultimate good in all situations. We can TRUST Him. We can rest assured that
we have placed our prayers in the hands of our Father Who knows all, sees all,
and hears all. He has all the information and will use our prayers to the best
benefit of all concerned.
THERE ARE MANY
WAYS
TO PRAY
I found it even
more enlightening when I made a list of the desires on my heart and titled it:
“If it be Thy Will, please…(example) l. let my business partner get
back to me today, or 2. Send someone to go to San Antonio with me tomorrow.
After this, I felt
great Peace, because I was satisfied that if something didn’t happen the way I
asked or at the time I asked, it was okay, because I really believed He would
do what was best. He had heard my prayers. I had chosen His Will and Wisdom
and Love above my own suggestions…and I know I can TRUST HIM.
WORD FOR THE DAY
BE IT UNTO ME ACCORDING TO THY WILL
