TRUE HUMILITY
What Is It?

Humility is the
actions of Love (unfeigned). When actions aren’t present, we sense that
something is out of order.
As I desired true humility, I knew I didn’t have the slightest idea of what it meant. I asked
the Lord to explain it better to me.
He showed me that
Humility and Love are synonymous…the same thing. Humility is the actions of love, wisdom of Love, opposite of Pride.
A FOOD EXCHANGE

I was drawn again
to the Angel Food Book and Rules of the House on page 31. It made sense
to exchange the word love for humility. Try reading it this way. “Let
humility (love) be our greatest aim.” I Corinthians 14:1.
And: If I am to
walk in humility (love), I will be:
Patient and Kind
Never jealous or envious
Never boastful or proud
Never haughty or selfish or
rude
Not demand my own way
Not be irritable or touchy
Not hold grudges
Not notice when others do me
wrong
Never be glad about injustice
Rather, Rejoice when truth
wins out
Loyal to my friends – no
matter what it costs
Always believe in them
Expect the best of them
Stand my ground in defending
them.
I Corinthians 13:4-7 (LBP)
OUCH!
Boy, did the reading
of these bring me again to repentance as God’s Word convicted me of many areas
where I have failed to walk in the humility of Love. Thank goodness, God is
LOVE and He walks in all of these traits toward us. I thank God for His
eternal forgiveness and today is a new opportunity to get back on track and try
again.
HOW TO PRAY FOR OTHERS

“Perfect love casts
out fear.” (I John 4:18). Our Father reminded me that when friends are
hurting and need prayer, the first question I should ask is, “What are they
afraid of?”
We can turn this
tool of Satan (fear) to our advantage. By using Satan’s own word…”fear”
against him, we can get right to the point of a friend’s need.
Fear is unnatural
for a Christian. It does not belong in our life. But it is so devious we
seldom recognize when it is attacking and what we are afraid of. That’s one of
the reasons our Lord asks us to pray for one another. (James 5:16).
Fear is overcome
with gentle Love. Humility knows someone is hurting, so forgets self and reaches
out in Love to overcome their fears by prayer or Holy Spirit led action.
Prayer is action.
Another word for
Humility is LOVE with a Purpose. It is the opposite of Pride.
REPEAT

Humility is the
actions of Love unfeigned. It is Expressions of Love offered in a gentle,
quiet spirit of Love. When normal actions aren’t present toward us, we know
something is out of order and we can ask, “What is my friend (or self) afraid
of?
This question takes
us straight to the heart of the matter and shows us How to address fears and
How to Pray in Humility.
