Ears To Hear # 97
IF IT’S NOT EASY
DON’T
DO
IT!
Now,
that’s a strange statement. In this world of over achievers, push-me and pull-me’s…only
someone from another world would say something like this. Ha.
But
that is what I heard the Father say to me this morning. It sure brought a lot of Peace. Especially
when I looked around and saw the many tasks I had assigned to myself. Prayers without number,
letters to write, financial business to be take care of; not to mention care of my physical self and
house. All of them seemed important, yet anyone of them that I chose to do first, ended up taking
up my whole day.
Well,
here I am, still on earth and it looks like I need to make a choice. In wisdom, I knew our Lord
meant something higher. Not that I would do something that was only spiritual, but it was His
personal way of helping me chose today what would please Him, and satisfy my need to do something of
value.
Then
I remembered His Word that said, “
Matthew 11:30
For my yoke [is] easy, and my burden
is
light.”
Matthew
11:28-30, “Come unto me, all [ye] that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give
you rest. Take My yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and
ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke [is] easy, and my burden is light.”
Why
would God say such a thing if He didn’t mean it?
We
desire that God’s will be done on earth as it is in Heaven. In more cases than not, it is
our own yokes that we put on ourselves. His Yoke is Light. Not only does it weigh
less, it’s also a form of Truth (Light), directing us to His Word that says, “This is the
way…walk here.”
Isaiah 30:21
And thine ears shall hear a word behind thee, saying, This [is] the way, walk
ye
in
it, when ye turn to the right hand, and when ye turn to the left.
Rom 15:4
For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort
of
the scriptures might have hope.
So,
let’s lay aside our own yokes today and put on His easy yoke. Let’s give Him permission
to use us any way He chooses today. We won’t have to guess, when we simple follow the gentle
promptings of doing whatsoever our hands find to do…all to the Glory of God.
