Ears To Hear # 89
COME
TO THE GARDEN
ALONE
Yes,
another old hymn is playing in my mind this morning. It amazes me how these old songs have been
imprinted on our hearts since childhood. I couldn’t find it in the hymnal, but remember
the words so clearly.
♫ I
come to the Garden alone,
While the
dew is still on the roses.
And the voice
I hear,
Falling on
my ear,
The Son of
God discloses.
And, He walks
with me,
And He talks
with me,
And He tells
me I am His Own.
And the JOY
we share,
As we tarry
there…
None other….
Has
ever…
Known. ♫
GOD’S
QUIET
GARDEN
Nothing
satisfies like being alone with the one you love. As Jesus went to the garden alone…so
are we able to follow in His steps.
It’s
quiet there now…peaceful…away from the world. Shade trees and sandy paths, gentle
birds, and fresh flowers. We meet our Lord there. Words are not necessary. To be in
each other’s presence is enough. Looking into each other’s eyes…soaking in
the spiritual presence of being one…united as planned.
All
is well. All is peace. All is satisfied. Just to be one.
We
come alone to be with our Lord; our Comfort, our Joy, our Fulfillment. Here we enter rest. Here
we enter completeness.
AMAZING GOD
Oh,
what an amazing God we serve. How can He provide this private garden of prayer for each of us? So
personal. For all, yet each alone. Who, but God, could have created such a plan?
THE
RICH FOLKS

God
provides for the widows in abundance of time and space. The widow, widower, or an older single
person, now have time to enjoy their Garden Walk. God has made them Rich.
Before
this time, people were always telling them to ‘stop and smell the roses’. But there
was no time. There was much planting to be done, hoeing, weeding, nurturing the plants in God’s
Garden.
Now,
the Garden thrives on its own…and the child of God finds themselves alone with God. Alone…in
a more pure sense than they have ever known…because now, it’s quiet in His Garden.
At
last…they are alone.
COME ALONE
Yes,
we come to God’s Garden alone…to hear Him, to sense His presence, to shut out the voices
of the world. In adoration, to seek only His face, to feel His embrace. To have eyes only
for Him as He has eyes only for us…in our Garden of Love.
IF
WE HAD KNOWN

If
we had only known…how to enter this quiet Garden when we were younger, we would have gone there
more often. We would have laid aside the shovel and hoe…taken off our work gloves, and
waited for the sound of our True Love’s gentle voice.
When
we enter this quiet garden early in the morning, while the dew is still on the roses…beginning
our day with Him, then we experience His presence as He walks with us, talks with us, and tells us
that we are His own…all through our day.
No
one but you and God will know what Joy is shared in your quiet garden with Him, because: You go
there alone. But, it is precious and sacred. It is beautiful, and fills your spirit to overflow…just
because: You went to the Garden Alone.
TIME
COMES TO LEAVE
THE
GARDEN

When
we first read the Bible, it was a chore. When we sat in church and listened to dry sermons, our
minds wandered and we were restless. Later,
as we nurtured God’s
tender plants, it required a lot of work and often disappointment and heart ache, but now we find our
private garden… a place of seclusion…just between Him and us. Whether our physical
time with Him is long or short, it will be enough for today.
It’s
so pleasant here that we find ourselves not wanting to leave. But the time always comes
when we know He has taken our hand, and gently whispers, “Come on sweet dove. It’s
time to go. It’s time to leave our quiet garden and go out into the world. We must
be about the Father’s business.”
So,
you release your will for His, knowing He has already laid out your plans for this day. All you
have to do is follow. Whatever is placed on your plate will be obvious. And it will be easy,
because now, you are no longer: Walking Alone.
The Fragrance
of His Love Surrounds You.
And the memory of His Words direct
your path.
