Ears To Hear # 78
A PARABLE
The
dictionary defines a parable as a short simple story intended to illustrate a moral or religious lesson. I
was not able to share with you yesterday the revelations I received about parables.
The
main thing I learned is that Jesus used them to speak to people who do not presently have spiritual
ears and understanding. When we become desperate for those we love to hear what we are hearing,
we may resort to sharing a parable or drawing them a picture.
EXAMPLE OF A LOVE PARABLE

Once
there was a couple so very much in love. The man thought the woman would meet all his needs and
she thought he would meet all of hers.
Although
they became one in their love for each other, they each had a common enemy. This enemy was Satan
who comes to rob, steal, and destroy anything holy, beautiful, and ordered by God.
You
could easily call his name “Enmity”…one who comes between or separates. The
dictionary says it is extreme ill will or hatred that exists between enemies.
The ‘spirit
of enmity’ began to tell them lies about each other’s motives. With each disappointment
in life, they blamed the one they thought should meet all their needs.
One
day they recognized “Enmity” for who he was and agreed to fight him together. They
were made aware that the language of the world had confused them, but agreed that God’s language…made
perfect sense.
Soon
the harsh words ceased as did the pain in their hearts. They could see clearly now. They
were re-united…back on the same team. And their family was restored.
Love conquers
all. God is Love!
The End.
LOVE WAS RESTORED….
And
THEY LIVED
HAPPILY EVER AFTER!
Well,
isn’t that the way all good love stories are suppose to end? The most important thing is
that they learned how to live happy.
