Ears To Hear # 75
GIFT
OF GIVING

This
morning when I met with our Lord, the Light of His presence came sooner than ever before. It was
fresh, free, and delightful. It came with a question of expectancy as I heard my own heart’s
desire asking, “Who can I bless today, Lord?”
I
recognized that I was in position to understand our Father’s Giving Heart to a greater degree. After
much discussion and filtering of my thoughts, I came to the guidelines I wanted to use today to bless
someone. They seemed to line up with the way
God often gives…not out of a “have-to” spirit, but out of a “want-to” spirit.
Today,
I wanted to give something tangible, above the spiritual prayers I had given for so many. When
our Lord freely blessed me with my new lawn mower, I found the same freedom to give my good smaller
mower to the person He chose. I was so blessed by this experience and the joy it brought, that
I wanted to give more and more…like our Father does.
I
had given much in the past…out of a poverty spirit but not today. That spirit is gone and
I am walking in abundance of His blessings. Prosperity means you have enough for yourself, and
more than enough to bless others, and complete any assignment you have in God’s Kingdom. When
we begin to walk this out in Faith…we enjoy the giving and will see things manifest in the natural. The
first step is to begin seeing yourself Rich like your Father…claiming His wisdom…and
direction as you give freely.
MY
GUIDE TO GIVING TODAY
I
knew I was going to give to someone today: something tangible. But, I didn’t know who. As
our Lord’s eyes wander to and fro throughout the earth to show Himself strong in the behalf of
them whose heart is perfect toward Him, (2 Chronicles 16:9), I believe He is always looking for someone
to bless. That is the way I felt as I considered the many friends and acquaintances in my life.
To
present a pure gift of love, I decided to use these guide lines.
l. Someone I know.
2. Not
a need, but an unexpected surprise.
3. Someone
I knew well enough to know a secret desire of theirs that they may
not even know.
4. They don’t have to
deserve it.
5. Not someone who expects it.
6. Not
an enemy; but a child of God.
7. Someone
I love and want to bless.
8. Out of my personal
abundance.
9. Not to win their favor.
10. Not to expect something in return.
11. Not because they have given to
me.
12. Someone who will appreciate it…whether
they say so or not.
Freely
I had received. Freely I desired to give. No strings attached, only for the Love of Giving. I
do believe this is the way our Father gives to us. Think about it.
WHO
DID I FINALLY CHOOSE?

I
finally chose a beautiful older couple in their 80’s who found each other late in life. Their
young love blooms daily, like a fragrant rose. It’s so refreshing to me, I want to bless
them.
With
my decision made, I picked up the phone and ordered a dozen roses…half of them pink (for her),
and half red (for him). My note said:
“To
celebrate your love for each other.”
Then, I signed
my name.
ASIDE
FROM RELIGIOUS TRADITION
Aside
from religious tradition, where some might feel it is wrong to tell someone where the gift came from,
I think it is important. How often do we need to see Jesus in each other? When a hug from
a friend becomes Jesus in blue jeans or work clothes? How often, do we long to believe that someone
in the natural could care enough for us to bless us?
Is
this person representing our Father’s Love? Do we understand our Father even more because
some of His children are giving gifts like He does? Often people just need to know that we care.
I WAS
THE MORE BLESSED
Of
course, I was the one who was more blessed. I don’t need to give you the scripture to that
one, but just in case you don’t know where to find it, look in Acts 20:35.
BE
PREPARED TO GIVE

Let “giving” become
a life style for you as it is for your Heavenly Father. Not frivolously or unwisely, but well
planned out. Ask our Lord to help you choose when and where and how much. He will be glad
to. He is the Creator of this ‘Gift of Giving’. And if you haven’t learned
how to hear His directions yet, then give from your heart.
Give
as He gives, from a Pure heart of Love…with no other motive.
“Every
man according as he purposeth in his heart, [so let him give]; not grudgingly, or of necessity:
for God loveth a cheerful giver.”
2 Corinthians
9:7
WORKING
ON NEXT GIFT
I’m
already working on my next gift. This one could be called spiritual because I am preparing to
teach someone else “How to Give.”
Of
course, you are all probably great givers and I may be the last to learn this awesome message. Just
rejoice with me, if I am.
An
added blessing is that when we become True Givers, honest and from pure hearts,…we begin to
recognize the many tangible gifts our Father of Gifts has already placed around us and continues to
do so daily. He is the Great Giver. We rejoice to recognize His seed in us. Praise God!

IT’S
FUN TO GIVE
