Ears To Hear # 64

MY SPIRIT WAS
RESTLESS

         Last night my spirit was very restless and I did not know why. But God did, and this morning He began to reveal it to me. This shows that He knows us better than we know ourselves. When something is troubling us we may have no idea what it is. Something has crossed our path without us realizing that it presented a conflict in our belief system.

DESIRE FOR UNITY

         God has placed in my heart a great desire for unity of the Body of Christ. I understand that His church is not limited to any denomination. At the same time I want to remain open to new things God is revealing to us from His Word and by His Spirit. I do not desire to judge before the time, or judge too quickly. 
         There is only once source of Truth that stands eternal for me and that is God’s Holy Word, ordained by Him for us. Jesus is the Truth, the light, and the way. I so desire to stay in step with Him. But how can I be sure if I do not read His Word?

DIRECTED BY HOLY SPIRIT
AND
HIS WORD

         I honestly did not know why, but I felt the Holy Spirit telling me to read Hebrews. I thought it was to build my faith which seems to need rebuilding each morning. Feeling very weak, I decided to read the whole book of Hebrews.
         I was surprised when I realized what it was about. God was reminding me that Jesus is our High Priest and it is explained so totally, especially in Chapters 4-10. Basically the lessons show how the old, inferior priesthood under the Mosaic Law was replaced for a Better Priest, with a Better Intercessor. It shows the failure of the Old Covenant which was replaced with the New Covenant, thus a Better Priesthood.
         And, oh what an awesome Covenant that is. Where we can individually come boldly into the throne room of God, behind the sacred veil. Christ did that for us on the Cross. His temple is within us and there we abide with Him. We need no other person to make sacrifices for us. It was a one time deal (read it). 
         Christ made His One-Time Sacrifice for us Once and for all. His desire now is for us to know Him better every day. He arranged for us to come to Him individually as He leads us to maturity in Him.

NO OFFENSE INTENDED

         To my precious Catholic friends, I sincerely do not desire to cause any offense between us. I am not putting down your beliefs but hopefully lifting you to a higher level of awareness of who your True High Priest is: Jesus Christ, and Him only. 
         If we are expecting any man to do for us what God wants to do for us and receive all the glory, we will somewhere along the line, be disappointed. I’m not judging the new priest. It is not my place to judge him as a man, but God has provided you with the same priesthood as Joseph Ratzinger.  He has made each of us kings and priests in His kingdom. We each have the call of priesthood on our lives. The Holy Spirit will surely direct us as easily as He directs any other priest.  
         I Peter 2:5,9 “But ye [are] a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should show forth the praises of Him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvelous light: Ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ.”
         Revelation l:6, 5:10 “And hath made us kings and priests unto God and his Father; to him [be] glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen. And hast made us unto our God kings and priests: and we shall reign on the earth.”

MUCH WE DON’T KNOW

         There is much we don’t know about each other’s ways of worship. We may have many wrong conceptions of what others believe. I pray to remain open and try to understand the way other people have been taught or why they believe as they do. My personal confidence is in God’s Word, and that can be the center of our understanding. 
         I am not trying to change anyone. I just pray that we each read His Word daily, seeking revelation from the Holy Spirit to understand what God is truly saying to each of us. God’s Word proves itself. So, if there is something I need to understand, please convince me by showing it to me in His Word. I desire to always be open to the TRUTH. 

MY PRAYERS FOR YOU

         My prayers for you are that you, too will find comfort in the Holy Scriptures. If you do not see yourself as a priest of equal value in God’s Word, and most of all, that He is our High Priest, I pray that you will read Hebrews Chapters 4-10 and see if you learn any new truths from it.

“This [is] my comfort in my affliction: for thy word hath quickened me.”   (Psalms 119:50).

NO LONGER RESTLESS

         After reading Hebrews, my spirit was no longer restless. It found rest in Him. Praise God! We honor all of God’s leaders and teachers as God asks us to. Just as long as we understand that they are never meant to replace God in our daily lives. And that the call on our lives is to learn to know Him for ourselves. To hear from Him personally. This is what I believe. Time is short, and when He says “Come”, we will know His Voice above all others. Praise God!

We may not recognize them by their Habits
But, we will, by their LOVE.

Many of them have received their Priesthood
From Jesus
