Ears To Hear # 36
KNOCK KNOCK
Who’s
There?
Who’s
knocking at your door today?
As
God’s clock is winding down and He is bringing in His Harvest, what does He ask of us?
That’s
a personal question, because only you and God know how He wants you to help.
For
me, it means that I remain aware of “who” God is sending to me. Most days now, I ask
myself, “Who is knocking at my door today?”
It
is a simplified, unhurried, unpressured work of the Lord. It has become very easy and obvious
for me to know where to go and what to do. Most places I go and things I accomplish, are through
prayer.
But
there are definite knocks on my door, and God provides the time for sharing. I recognize the knocks
each time someone calls for prayer. When June called and asked me to pray for her granddaughter,
that was June knocking.
When
others send emails and either need prayer or encouragement… that is a knock that I respond to.
When
Vicki calls and wants to share what the Lord has shown her…that’s Vicki knocking.
When
the Holy Spirit brings a special person to my mind to pray for…that’s the Holy Spirit
knocking. I recognize the sound of His knock. I just open the door,
ask Him to come in, and we pray.
I’m
not sure how to explain this. You probably have experienced the same thing. The part I enjoy
about it, is that it simplifies my life. Instead of trying to pray for an unlimited number of
people of my own choice, this is a comforting way to pray.
Who
will knock today? God knows!
When
I have read His Word and visited with Him…I’ll be ready to share when someone knocks. I
like being prepared to receive them. It’s amazing how little I have to share when I don’t
spend time in His Word first.
This
is not to say that I don’t knock on my friends’ doors. By now, you have surely recognized
my need to share. You may not feel compelled to open your door every time I knock. But some
do.
Like
my friend Marie, if no one is home when she knocks, (calls), she just leaves a message and knocks on
someone else’s door. God always provides for her.
I
have knocked on many doors needing prayer, counsel, and encouragement. But I’m blessed to
see that lately I am going more and more directly to His door.
It
is always OPEN to me and anyone who chooses to knock. He is always prepared to serve His love,
encouragement, wisdom, and direction.
Praise
God! “Come
on In.”
Knock Knock
Who’s
There?
Today?
Of
course we all know what to do when the devil comes knocking. We just say, “Jesus will You get
that, please?”

Ask, and it shall
be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: (Matthew 7:7).
