CANNOT
SIN
MY INTERPRETATION:
SIN was detached
at the Cross. We are now"Free to Serve".
SIN is an "outside" attack
on the Children of God.
It is a "separate entity" from
the Child of God.
We were separated from sin the day we asked Jesus to come into our heart and we received what He did
for us on the Cross.
When I hear a sincere Christian talk
about "sin" in their life,
I cringe and become very jealous for the work of the Cross. God saw that man could not overcome sin
by himself, so in love, Christ paid the penalty for us once and for all. He didn't half-die, half-deliver,
half-save.
When a person truly receives what Christ did for them, that person has only the desires of Christ in
him or her. At that point, they become born of God and they no longer commit sins. It doesn't say, "they
shouldn't sin". It says they do not sin. And they "cannot" sin because God's seed remains
in them and they are born of God.
Those who have not received their forgiveness at the Cross, and believed what Christ did for them, are
not children of God and do not have His seed in them.
This is not a temporary or partial salvation.
When we are born-again; this time from above, we have a mission on earth that requires our constant
dependence on our Heavenly Father. Our heart's desire is to always please Him. He knows that. He planted
the seed at the time of our new birth.
Everything the Holy Spirit teaches
us now is to make our lives easier and to bring more success for His kingdom. But we can dismiss the
idea that there can be sin "IN" us.
NO! It is on the outside and will remain there with the purpose of trying to destroy us or our the
Father's plans.
That is why we know we must learn to use all the weapons at our disposal to come against that SIN that
has been detached from us at the Cross.
Satan's greatest lie is to demean
the Cross and it's value, and it's eternal sufficiency. He can slow us down when we begin to believe
the lie that "It was not enough." We begin to nit pick at
ourselves and what we think are "sins". We spend so much time attacking these imaginary "sins" that
we are not being useful in the kingdom. It causes a delay in God's purpose for our lives.
Sin came into the world the day Adam turned his authority over to Satan.
SIN is a separate entity. Try to see it that way. Your victories will come sooner. Your battle strategy
will become more certain.
As we are constantly learning and
maturing in wisdom on this earth, we are constantly being "Washed" by
His Word. We are receiving more knowledge of how to walk our "earth walk". And since we humans
have limited memories, a constant washing of wisdom is necessary. It also keeps us in a close, loving
relationship with our Lord.
I have reason to believe that He
has already sanctified us at the cross, if we receive what He did for us. What I think we are receiving
more of daily, especially in the end times, is "clarification".
Man tries to use man's ways to explain our position with Christ, instead of using God's Words to explain
how we are to live on earth. When all of our attention is turned to what we think is sin in our lives,
then we are worshiping Satan and leaving God's work undone. Neither is this giving glory to God.
"Little children, let no man
deceive you: he that doeth righteousness is righteous, even as He is righteous.
"He that committeth sin is of
the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested,
that he might destroy the works of the devil.
"Whosoever is born of God doth
not commit sin; for His seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God."
After understanding that Christ's
work of redemption for us is permanent, I too, was trying to reason our part in this miracle. So, I
remembered about our "trespasses and iniquities". But then
I remembered a lesson by Walter Hallam that proves Jesus even took care of those when the Bible says, "He
was bruised for our iniquities (weaknesses).
Of course this is no excuse to be lazy. But we can't be lazy as long as His seed remains in us and our
heart's desire is to love and serve Him.
Our only sin would be not to Receive
what He has done for us and not to believe Him when He said: "It
is finished."
This is my personal view of the Cross from my side of the campfire. I am not trying to force it on anyone.
If it blesses you, you might also find great joy in reading the Bible this week, as though you are one
of the redeemed, and not a sinner who has not received God's Sacrificial Gift.
You might like to consider each scripture as either before you came to the Cross or after Jesus died
for you to set you Free.
